What If...? Head Writer A.C. Bradley has confirmed that the show's tenth episode (which was pushed to season 2 as a result of the pandemic) would have been a comedic effort focusing on Tony Stark.
We've been left in the dark about what exactly this instalment entailed, though the executive producer did recently explain that, "We did have another comedy episode in the season, more in the pure comedy vein, which is the one that has been pushed to season 2 due to COVID production issues."
However, looking back at a LEGO set revealed several months ago, we may finally have a better idea of what that episode was going to focus on. As you can see below, Tony Stark being transported to Sakaar in place of The Hulk is really the only possibility that makes sense at this stage. Yes, LEGO sets aren't always accurate, but the others released for What If...? have been representative of what we've seen in the Marvel Studios animated series thus far.
With this in mind, chances are this episode - which will be part of season 2 - is going to be a retelling of Thor: Ragnarok, asking, "What If...Iron Man Went To Sakaar Instead Of The Hulk?"
From there, Tony Stark would likely team up with Valkyrie, clash with The Grandmaster, and probably compete in the arena in a makeshift Hulkbuster armour. We won't get to see this play out until next year, but at least this LEGO set offers a preview of what's to come in What If...? moving forward.
