Avengers 4 may be the last time fans see Chris Evans' Captain America in the MCU, but that doesn't mean he won't work with castmates outside of the franchise. Reteaming with
Spider-Man: Homecoming's Tom Holland, their latest effort is currently looking for distribution at TIFF.
Titled
The Devil All The Time, the film will also see the inclusion of
Good Time's Robert Pattinson and
Alice in Wonderland's Mia Wasikowsa. Directed by Antonio Campos, the film is based on Donald Ray Polluck's 2011 novel of the same name. Evans and Holland will be portraying the film's two leads. Here is the plot provided by Deadline:
In a place called Knockemstiff, Ohio, a forgotten backwoods of this country – a storm of faith, violence and redemption brews. Out of desperation to save his dying wife, our protagonist Willard Russell turns to prayer which succumbs to sacrifice. His son Arvin (Holland) is growing from a kid bullied at school into a man who knows when to take action. The cast of characters includes a serial killer couple, a faith-testing preacher and a corrupt local sheriff (Evans) in a story told across two decades.
Produced by
Far From Home's Jake Gyllenhaal, the film is set to start production by the end of the winter, with a possible release the following year.
