SPLINTER CELL: Check Out A First Look At Sam Fisher In The Animated Series Coming To Netflix

As part of "GeekedWeek," Netflix has shared a first official look at the Splinter Cell animated series based on the hit Ubisoft video game franchise. This isn't the live-action movie many fans have been hoping for (Venom star Tom Hardy was once attached to star in the project), but if there's enough interest in the show, perhaps that movie will finally start to gain a little steam.

This first look doesn't reveal much, but Sam Fisher looks every bit the badass based on this teaser.

John Wick writer Derek Kolstad is set to serve as both writer and executive producer on the show which has already received a two-season, sixteen-episode order from the streaming service.

The first Splinter Cell game was released back in 2002, and there have since been six sequels and a series of novels. Recently, fans were left disappointed when a new instalment was announced, only for it to later be revealed that it will be a mobile game rather than a PS5 or Xbox Series X title.

Splinter Cell revolves around former U.S. Navy SEAL Sam Fisher after he is recruited by the NSA to work for the mysterious Third Echelon division within the agency. He then embarks on a variety of black ops missions, with the aim being to pull those off stealthily without alerting anyone to his presence.

Check out this first look at Sam Fisher in Splinter Cell below:

I wish Ubisoft would make another one of these games but that would require putting efforts towards a game that they couldn't riddle with MTX so..

I don’t know anyone who wanted an anime of this game. For years they’ve been working on a movie and a supposed next game, which all of their fanbase wants. Are they tone deaf to their fans?!

@ImBatman4realz - I think they hear it. But I THINK the cost to returns won't be as good. it's not as marketable as all their multilayer games, which most studios seem to focus on.

I'd be happy though for less assassins creeds games and more splinter cell.

I just knew that Tom Hardy movie was never going to come out. Anime would be cool. Just hope it's Ironside doing the voice.

You need Michael Ironside attached. It's not Sam without him.

I rather get a new game instead but at least Splinter Cell is still alive in some form.

Also, if they can't get Ironside, then they better get someone who damn near sounds like him. I'll never forgive Ubisoft for what they did to Fisher in Blacklist.

Shame a character like Fisher hasn't received a new game yet.

I’d rather have a new Splinter Cell game then some stupid anime series on Netflix.
