AHSOKA Will Reportedly Feature Darth Vader As Well As Hayden Christensen's Anakin Skywalker

Some new details about the live-action Ahsoka series coming to Disney+ have been revealed, and along with the returning Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker, it sounds like we'll see more Darth Vader.

Making Star Wars  (via SFFGazette.com) is reporting that Darth Vader is set to play a key role in Ahsoka. Reliable sources have already revealed that Hayden Christensen will be part of the show, but seeing as he's not necessarily needed for Vader, common sense says we'll end up seeing Anakin Skywalker in and out of the iconic suit.

According to the site, Tom O'Connel is currently being fitted for a new Vader costume and is expected to don the suit for the entirety of the Disney+ series.

Interestingly, it's noted that this suit is different to the one we saw in Obi-Wan Kenobi earlier this year. The site goes on to add that, "they made some changes to reflect the time frame in which the sequence takes place," so we're definitely intrigued by what this could mean.

They go on to speculate that there's a chance we'll see the duel between Ahsoka and Vader from Star Wars Rebels in live-action. Remember, that face-off also ended with the Sith Lord's helmet being broken open, which could explain Christensen's presence. If we had to take a guess, the actor will also make an appearance as a Force Ghost, guiding his former Apprentice during this adventure.

Regardless, more Vader definitely isn't a bad thing after Obi-Wan Kenobi, and we could spend all day speculating about his role here (what if he shares the screen with Grand Admiral Thrawn in flashbacks?). For now, we'll just have to wait and see, though it's possible Lucasfilm will finally share some official details during September's Disney+ Day.

Christensen has been embraced by fans since returning to this Galaxy Far, Far Away, so we remain hopeful that he'll continue to make his presence felt on the big and small screen - as Vader and Anakin - for a long time to come. Obi-Wan Kenobi definitely felt like redemption after Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith, anyway.

Ahsoka is set to be released on Disney+ sometime in 2023.

It doesn’t matter how good these shows are when we know it all ends in the 3 turds we were given.

I just want a NEW star wars movie that has NOTHING to do with any of the characters we've already seen. No cameos and no empire either. Just give me a new story with new characters.

Creatively bankrupt franchise will die within 10 years if it continues like this.

I don't think we need to see a live action re-enactment of their Rebels fight, especially since it will be similar to the Obi-Wan Kenobi fight.

I'd focus on flashbacks of their relationship with her as his apprentice.

@thewanderer - maybe even Hayden as a force ghost.

@thewanderer - Seeing Hayden Anakin and Rosario Dawson Ashoka flashbacks will just be weird and will make no sense for the general audience.

@kazuma - why, because we never saw a live action younger Ahsoka?

I think you’re not giving the audience enough credit to put two and two together there.

@thewanderer - No. Because Anakin and Ashoka have zero connection in live action.
Most people didn't watch Clone Wars and most people don't know Anakin had an apprentice.

It's like Darth Maul at the end of Solo. Most people saw him die and most people thought it was weird to see him again.
Now they'll have to convince the audience that Anakin had an apprentice (despite nothing saying so in the movies), and that we should care.

@kazuma - I really don't think it would be a big deal.

So hyped for this show. With Mandalorian season 3 and Ahsoka both coming 2023, it's gonna be an awesome year. Also, I'm so glad that Hayden gets to be Vader/Anakin in this show too. Would've been a shame if his return to the role ended up just being the Obi-Wan series, which was kind of a dissapointment as a story.
