Yesterday's episode of Andor crammed in a lot of story, but moved its characters to some very interesting new places. For starters, we got a very big reveal when it was confirmed that Rebel Vel Sartha (Faye Marsay) is, in fact, Mon Mothma's cousin. Mon encouraged her to play the part of a spoiled rich girl to avoid drawing too much unwanted attention but has her own problems.

Getting her hands on that money isn't proving to be as easy as Mon hoped, leading to an upcoming meeting with a Chandrilan "thug" who might be able to help.

Elsewhere, it's now apparent that Dedra Meero is far from a sympathetic Imperial. While she initially appeared to be a woman struggling in a man's world to do the "right: thing, the ISB agent is every bit as twisted and evil as others who loyally serve the Empire.

That's evident when she tortures Bix Caleen for information on Cassian Andor's whereabouts. How? By using recordings of Imperials murdering alien children. The noise those kids make is enough to drive someone to madness, and it doesn't take Meero long to break Bix.

Cassian, meanwhile, is still in that Imperial prison, but things soon take a sinister turn. While he is plotting an escape, news travels to his floor that someone who was "released" was instead just sent to another part of the facility. Once word of that got out, every single prisoner on the floor was killed. There is no leaving this prison; when you're there, it's a life sentence.

With that, Andy Serkis' Kino Loy finally relents and tells Cassian how many guards are on their floor, clearly warming to his plan of staging a breakout.

That's where the episode ends, but Andor has definitely found its feel these past few weeks. We still have three episodes to go, so where things go from here promises to be very interesting.

this show is phenomenal. Each episode has been thrilling and keeps you on the edge about what comes next. I must say though, the enthusiasm imperial officers have working for the empire is next level. If I was this driven and enthusiastic about my job, I'd go places.

I'm truly surprised how they packed so much quality into this show. The dirty technology sets are expected but Coruscant, the ISB, the Prison, etc... fantastic. The prison looks straight out of a Kubrick film

Another great episode. Andy Serkis is killing it. Love the complexity of his character and I really like that Serkis gets to return to the universe to play a more compelling role.

This has been the best thing Disney Star Wars has produced thus far, hands down.

I hope it sticks the landing.

That angry blonde imperial lady is giving off Joffrey vibes in both attitude and looks. 🤷‍♂️🤣

Maybe its just me, but I find this show a bit slow. Its a very well done, good show, but they sure are taking their time building up to events.

That being said, I did like the building atmosphere in this episode in the prison.

I have to admit, even knowing Andor's fate, this has been an incredibly mature and tense show.
The good thing about centring this show around Andor, and including only a few already established characters, is that the new characters can be concentrated on and create new franchises from. Bix Caleen could be similar to a live action Dr Aphra (I'm not completely familiar with that character but I can see the resemblance).
The only thing that confuses me is the distinct lack of alien or droid characters in the background of Andor.
