Some fans have questioned why Lucasfilm has decided to tell Cassian Andor's pre-Rogue One story on Disney+, but just because we know how things end for him doesn't mean his tale isn't worth telling. Andor has been shooting for a while now, though it seems we can look forward to a couple of other big names making their return to this Galaxy Far, Far Away.
According to a rumour shared by The Direct (so, take this news with a pinch of salt), Captain Marvel and Secret Invasion star Ben Mendelsohn is set to reprise his role as Orson Krennic.
As the member of the Empire who oversaw the construction of the first Death Star, there are certainly ways he could factor into Andor, though we're not sure what relevance he'd have to Cassian's story. It's possible this will just be a cameo, though, setting up the events of Rogue One in some way.
In news that's a little more solid, The Avengers star Stellan Skarsgård has revealed in an interview with Swedish radio station Sverige Radio that he has some "juicy scenes" with Forest Whitaker in Andor, promising that we can look forward to "at least two good" moments between their characters.
Bringing Saw back does make perfect sense, and it feels like this show is really going to expand on those years before A New Hope in a way that fills in some major gaps in this Galaxy's history.
Andor is expected to premiere on Disney+ sometime in 2022.
