We've heard that early plans for Obi-Wan Kenobi reportedly called for the Jedi Master to embark on a mission to protect the young Luke Skywalker, but amid concerns the premise was a little too close to The Mandalorian, the idea was dropped. Instead, "Ben" has been forced to leave Tatooine in an effort to rescue Princess Leia, and so far, fans seem to be on board.
Much of the credit for that goes to Vivien Lyra Blair. The actor has done a phenomenal job as Leia, evoking the spirit of Carrie Fisher and fleshing out the Princess in some awesome ways.
"It’s hard to imagine Carrie Fisher being anything other than proud of this formidable, witty, and highly enjoyable portrayal of the Princess," we said in our review of the first two episodes. "Blair does the scrappy Leia we met in A New Hope justice, and we’d say the rumoured decision to shift focus from Luke to her was the right one for Obi-Wan Kenobi."
Obi-Wan Kenobi premiered on Disney+ last Friday, leaving many under the assumption that new episodes will drop on Fridays. However, the third instalment will be released tomorrow, with subsequent episodes following each Wednesday.
