Star Wars fans can't wait to see Darth Vader return in Disney+'s upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series, especially as this is a time in Anakin Skywalker's life that's never been explored in the current canon. We've seen what the Sith Lord was doing immediately after the events of Revenge of the Sith and right before A New Hope, but not what was happening when he was at the height of his power.
In the series, Vader will be on the hunt for both Obi-Wan and any remaining Jedi, and Hayden Christensen - who is set to don that foreboding armour - has now elaborated on the villain's mission.

"This is sort of a point in the timeline that hasn't really been explored yet, and I think that the character of Darth Vader is at an interesting point in his life, in terms of what has happened before and where we left him in Episode III," he says in the video below. "He's very much sort of trying to reconcile his past, and hunting down the Jedi. Obviously it's his job and he's mandated by the Emperor, but it's more than that. It's a personal mission for him."
Considering it was Obi-Wan who left Anakin to burn on Mustafar, we're not surprised Vader feels this way. He also blames the Jedi for what happened to Padme, and that anger and resentment are a big part of what fueled his eventual fall to the Dark Side in Revenge of the Sith.
This should make for a gripping tale in the Galaxy Far, Far Away, and with Christensen back in the suit, he has theopportunity to explore this character in a way the prequels never allowed.
Obi-Wan Kenobi will premiere with its first two episodes on Disney+ in May 27.
