OBI-WAN KENOBI Star Ewan McGregor Comments On Potentially Joining The Marvel Cinematic Universe

Ewan McGregor briefly joined the DCEU as the villainous Black Mask, but could he now go from the Star Wars franchise to the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Find out what he had to say about that right here...

Ewan McGregor has arguably become best known for starring as Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Star Wars franchise, and with a limited series revolving around the Jedi Master now in his rearview, all eyes are on what the actor does next. The hope is that we will get a season 2, of course, but could the actor be tempted to head from a Galaxy Far, Far Away to the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

Unfortunately, no. Talking at the Fan Expo in Boston this weekend (via SFFGazette.com), McGregor explained why he's in no rush to join a massive franchise anytime soon.

"I don't know. I don't know that I want to do that," he revealed. "Because I love doing all different kinds of work. It's true. I love to direct. I'd like to be in the theater again. I definitely want to do this again, you know, I'm in this Star Wars world. I feel like I don't need another...I'm not looking for that anyway."

This is a little surprising, as McGregor didn't shy away from starring in Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey, a DC Comics movie that saw him steal the show as the villainous Black Mask. However, the Obi-Wan Kenobi star would go on to say that there's always a chance he'll change his mind when it comes to the MCU, so don't count him out just yet.

"I feel like I shouldn't say I wouldn't do it because in two years' time you'll be like, 'You said you were never going to do this!' But I'm not looking for it particularly," he concluded.

We'd love to see McGregor in the MCU, and with Avengers: Secret Wars on the horizon, we can't help but think he'd be perfect as Molecule Man. That's just one of many characters it would be fun to see him bring to life on screen, though the actor returning to Star Wars for another season of Obi-Wan Kenobi would probably be preferable for many fans.

Do you think McGregor would be a good fit for the MCU? Let us know down in the comments section.
