OBI-WAN KENOBI's Latest Episode Revealed Some Key Details About The Jedi Master's Past - SPOILERS

We may have got the rematch we've all been waiting for in the latest instalment of Obi-Wan Kenobi, but the episode also featured a quieter moment with an intriguing revelation about the Jedi's childhood.

Three episodes in, and Obi-Wan Kenobi has definitely lived up to expectations thus far. The battle between the Jedi Master and Darth Vader was proof of that, but there was another intriguing detail to be found in one of the show's quieter moments.

That latest episode proved to be particularly revealing, especially as the bond between "Ben" and Princess Leia continued to develop. The Jedi Master revealed that he was taken from his family by the Jedi at a very early age and that he remembers having a brother. He doesn't recall his name or even what he looks like, but believes he was a baby at the time.

This presumably means there's a whole Kenobi family out there somewhere, though your guess is as good as ours when it comes to whether we might meet some of them eventually! Being taken from his brother could, of course, go some way towards explaining the bond Obi-Wan eventually formed with Anakin Skywalker.

As well as suiting up as Darth Vader, Hayden Christensen also reprised that role in the latest episode. He appeared as Anakin in a vision Ben had while travelling with Leia, though given the look on his old friend's face, it's hard to say whether this was his imagination playing tricks on him or the Sith Lord finding a way to taunt his former Master through the Force.

Rumour has it Obi-Wan Kenobi will include flashbacks with Christensen as Anakin, so it will be interesting to see how they inform the story being told here (assuming they happen).

Take a closer look at Anakin Skywalker's "return" below:

Love the scene of Obi Wan talking about his family and his vague memories. It was a nice touch.

I didnt like the rematch, and having Obi Wan and Anakin meet before EpIV was always a bad idea...
Anyway, I like they keep digging at the idea that the jedi were also assholes, and that Luke is right in EpVIII.

Good show so far, but I hope they step-up the acting, so far the only one giving a good performance is the little girl playing Leia.

@TheHumanSpider2 - If they needed to do something like that, they could have had it in dream sequences where Vader winning would have represented Obi-Wan losing all faith in the force, and Obi-Wan winning is him reclaiming a renewed faith in the force's plan. A few dream sequences that show how screwed up he is, show him struggling but not abandoning the force, and leading it to a point where in his Dreams Qui Gon appears and helps him, cementing his faith. Then Qui Gon can help him with his training speaking to him in the dreams to open his eyes to the force plane or whatever you call it when Jedi's crossover to become Ghosts.

@TheHumanSpider2 - Jedi are not really the good guys. They are basically fanatics/baby snatchers with a strict "code" wich is the reason for all the bad things that happened in the galaxy. Vader is right. He is what Obi-Wan made of him. Taking him away from his mother, teaching him to hide and control his emotions, forbidding him to love Padme, asking him to spy on the chancelor, etc.

@Yuhio - Exactly, that is why Anakin did fulfill the prophecy, he brougt balance to the Force...he was never intended to destroy only the Sith, his destiny was to end both sides (which he did, until the sequels).

@Yuhio - but those concepts are not mutually exclusive in a moral hierarchy. Being ‘good’ still requires great sacrifice in order to maintain peace and order

@TheHumanSpider2 - Anakin only brougt balance for a few years and Palpatine returned with a Sith cult. It was Rey who fulfilled (again) the Chosen One prophecy. (I don't like it either but hey, guess what the sequels are canon).

Book Of Booby Fett and The Obi Wan Can Blowme shows feel more like big budget fans films to me. Visually nice but the writing is bad.

Anakin and Obi-wan's relationship was doomed cuz they both wanted different things. Obi-wan needed the little brother he was cheated out of. Anakin needed the father he never had. Neither really got what they wanted. Palpatine saw that and slid into that role.
Anyway this show is pretty solid. really needs better directed chase scenes though.

I have no problem with them having met each other again before a new Hope. Their dialogue can be interpreted to justify if. I’m not thrilled about how their interaction was portrayed on the show. How Kenobi kept running away and would turn a corner and Vader would be there. I get the emotional state he was in and all that. But how Vader kept being on the other side of a dune. Seemed kinda cheesy.

@Stinkor1 - dunes are just hills so it isn't hard to move around them. To me it made sense. Vader wants to build that fear and torture him. He's bent and evil. He wants Obi Wan to hurt as much as possible. Obi Wan is ten years out of practice and was already weaker than Anakin. Vader is immensely more powerful now. That and the fact that Obi Wan never wanted to fight him and I can understand why he was running away. He also doesn't know if Vader's reinforcements are coming. Would have been foolish for him to stand and fight

Taking kids from families and denying them any love in their life was the Jedi way. All the Jedi were allowed to love was a political system called the Republic. The Jedi were political pundits, not keepers of the peace.

When Obi-Wan described the Jedi in Episode IV, he was just repeating propaganda he learned by being brainwashed by the sick, twisted, Jedi cult.

The scene works so well because of the tragic mystery of it all. Leave Obi Wan and the rest of us wondering just once. I know it's a long shot, but I think it would carry more weight. My first thought was they are going to find some way to make Owen his brother. I know there were at least implications in the old comics of that being the case. Really hope not
