Rosario Dawson debuted as the live-action Ahsoka Tano in The Mandalorian season 2 and it was there we learned of her quest to find Grand Admiral Thrawn (and Ezra Bridger).
Since then, the former Jedi has shared the screen with Luke Skywalker in The Book of Boba Fett and is now taking centre stage in a solo series which, four episodes in, looks likely to be the most important tale told during this post-Return of the Jedi era.
Showrunner Dave Filoni is a master world-builder and cleverly connects Ahsoka to The Mandalorian with a surprise cameo in "Fallen Jedi."
After Chancellor Mon Mothma and her fellow officials turned down Hera Syndulla's request to send a strike force to Seatos to help Ahsoka and Sabine Wren, the Rebel takes matters into her own hands and goes AWOL alongside Chopper and her son Jacen.
However, joining them is Paul Sun-Hyung Lee's Captain Carson Teva and his squad of X-Wings!
Yes, The Mandalorian fan-favourite is back after previously befriending Din Djarin and turning to the bounty hunter for help when the New Republic failed him during the show's third season. We know he too is friends with Zeb, so it surely can't be too much longer before that Ghost crew member shows up.

Death And A Jaw-Dropping Surprise Return - SPOILERS
In the episode's closing moments, Morgan Elsbeth activates the Eye of Sion and blasts off to find Thrawn by quite literally flying through our heroes. Thankfully, the Ghost remains intact, though many of Teva's fellow pilots are killed, something we're sure the New Republic will not be happy about seeing as this mission wasn't authorised!
There will soon be bigger issues to deal with, though, and it seems likely the New Republic will ultimately regret its decision not to do everything within its power to stop Eslbeth's machinations. Thrawn's return is now imminent and war is coming.
Will the Grand Admiral be revealed as the Imperial who founded The First Order? Did he help create Supreme Leader Snoke based on Moff Gideon's cloning experiments? And is he still loyal to the Empire after spending years in another Galaxy? Those are just a couple of the questions fans are hoping will be answered in this series, but they're also mysteries that may not be solved until Filoni's eventual Star Wars movie.
For now, it was definitely fun seeing the return of a familiar face, especially when he's become a recurring presence elsewhere in this Galaxy.
As you might expect, fans were very happy with this surprise cameo!
