THE MANDALORIAN Star Makes A Surprise Appearance In AHSOKA's Action-Packed Fourth Episode - SPOILERS

The latest episode of Ahsoka features a surprise appearance from a fan-favourite The Mandalorian character, but even they're not enough to stop Morgan Elsbeth from enacting her sinister plan. Check it out!

Rosario Dawson debuted as the live-action Ahsoka Tano in The Mandalorian season 2 and it was there we learned of her quest to find Grand Admiral Thrawn (and Ezra Bridger).

Since then, the former Jedi has shared the screen with Luke Skywalker in The Book of Boba Fett and is now taking centre stage in a solo series which, four episodes in, looks likely to be the most important tale told during this post-Return of the Jedi era.

Showrunner Dave Filoni is a master world-builder and cleverly connects Ahsoka to The Mandalorian with a surprise cameo in "Fallen Jedi."

After Chancellor Mon Mothma and her fellow officials turned down Hera Syndulla's request to send a strike force to Seatos to help Ahsoka and Sabine Wren, the Rebel takes matters into her own hands and goes AWOL alongside Chopper and her son Jacen.

However, joining them is Paul Sun-Hyung Lee's Captain Carson Teva and his squad of X-Wings!

Yes, The Mandalorian fan-favourite is back after previously befriending Din Djarin and turning to the bounty hunter for help when the New Republic failed him during the show's third season. We know he too is friends with Zeb, so it surely can't be too much longer before that Ghost crew member shows up.

Death And A Jaw-Dropping Surprise Return - SPOILERS

In the episode's closing moments, Morgan Elsbeth activates the Eye of Sion and blasts off to find Thrawn by quite literally flying through our heroes. Thankfully, the Ghost remains intact, though many of Teva's fellow pilots are killed, something we're sure the New Republic will not be happy about seeing as this mission wasn't authorised!

There will soon be bigger issues to deal with, though, and it seems likely the New Republic will ultimately regret its decision not to do everything within its power to stop Eslbeth's machinations. Thrawn's return is now imminent and war is coming.

Will the Grand Admiral be revealed as the Imperial who founded The First Order? Did he help create Supreme Leader Snoke based on Moff Gideon's cloning experiments? And is he still loyal to the Empire after spending years in another Galaxy? Those are just a couple of the questions fans are hoping will be answered in this series, but they're also mysteries that may not be solved until Filoni's eventual Star Wars movie.

For now, it was definitely fun seeing the return of a familiar face, especially when he's become a recurring presence elsewhere in this Galaxy.

As you might expect, fans were very happy with this surprise cameo!

He’s a fan favorite? I always found him to be very cringey.

Help us Dave, you're our only hope.

Last night's episode made me remember why I love Star Wars.

Is the pacing slow? Yup
Is the dialogue stale? Yup

???

That's really the only complaint I have at this point. Watching them switch forms in anticipation of their opponent's attack was so freaking dope.

Dave gives a damn. That's all I ask.

And that ending... I am so ready for episode 5

Let's [frick]in GO!!!

@DarthOmega - ‘That’s really the only complaint I have at this point’

Any other franchise/show/movie, those points you made would be a death knell

@CerealKiller1 - I guess I've been so a.noyed with Disney Star Wars something as simple as a slow pace or stilted dialogue is so much better than stunt casting horrible "Actors" like Lizzo

@DarthOmega - Can’t actually argue with you there bud

@CerealKiller1 - Slow pace isn’t a bad thing. It’s obviously intentional.

It may not be everyone’s preference; but it’s not bad.

@MG0019 - I would say more it isn’t ‘always’ bad. It definitely ‘can’ be bad

Episode 4 was fun. My only 2 complaints so far is that Ashoka is too stoic and they severely nerfed Sabine.

Ashoka should talk to her opponents more, the way Ashley played Ashoka, she always had something to say during a fight. She had a personality. I understand this Ashoka is older and has been through a lot, but it doesn't feel like the same character. I don't see any of my old Snips. Where is the snippy attitude? Now she's just permanently a stoic safe? Nah.

And Sabine in Rebels was a bad ass worthy of wielding the dark saber fluidly, who was an expert Mandalorian warrior who could stand toe to toe with most threats. But in this show they treat her as mostly incompetent and as if she was a brand new character with only minimal field combat experience. Took her till episode 4 to remember she's not completely useless, and still was pretty useless.

But as far as the bigger ideas go and the look of the show and the style and the story, I'm enjoying it thus far. But it can definitely still very easily shit the bed and nose dive by the finale.

@TheVandalore - I feel the same about Sabine. Maybe the actress hasn't shown us everything she has yet. Maybe they are saving the true badassedness for the last half of the season. Because Sabine is much more capable on Rebels.

@grif - I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone refer to him as a fan favorite.

Also the ending left me wondering if Anaikins spirit is really there or is he a figment of her imagination or something since he’s in the outfit she last saw him in and not in the outfit from the end of ROTJ
TheVandalore
TheVandalore - 9/6/2023, 6:09 PM
@AnthonyVonGeek - we don't fully understand how force ghosts work. Or how the world between worlds works. There could be some factor of using the person you are appearing to's memory or something, so what they see you as is subjective when you appear as a force ghost.

Sooooooo Marrok was a nobody?? 🤷🏼‍♂️
TheVandalore
TheVandalore - 9/6/2023, 6:14 PM
@Batmandalorian - looks that way. Just a new character. Until further evidence suggests different.

There is still a chance he was a conjuring of Night Sister magic, who in cannon have summoned smoke demons, and perhaps could be using magic to trap a soul in the suit, and that soul could be someone who we know.... but save a twist such as that, it's likely just a new character henchmen without a fully fleshed out history in this show.

NinnesMBC - 9/6/2023, 8:25 PM
@TheVandalore - Now a lot do think Marrok was exactly that, a conjuring of dark magic Morgan Elsebeth did and it would tie up the dots nicely with that rumor that she's gonna raise a dead army of Stormtroopers for Thrawn's army.

@NinnesMBC - They way he drew his saber like Darth Maul though :O

@abd00bie - Would be an interesting type of comeback if that was confirmed. Especially when Sam Witwer chose to remain coy about his role here in lending his voice for unknown characters.

Gotta say, the lightsaber duels in this show are top notch. The way they’re shot has that real OG samurai feel to them

Watching with headphones and I scared my wife how excited I was this episode. But we finally got to see Ghost in live action which was a big deal too for me.

"Arthurian legend" marrok being a nobody 😂

But i guess there is still some revelations waiting there. Shin was too worried when he got cut.

Great episode. In Filoni we trust.

I also agree from a poster that Ahsoka here is too stiff and Sabine being shown as a newbie. It wasnt that long ago since the last episode of Rebels for this much change to happen
