Today's episode of The Mandalorian was nothing short of spectacular, and for fans of The Clone Wars, there was plenty here to get excited about. The season is finally starting to take shape, while some big hints were also dropped about the direction the overall story arc of the series is heading in.

Now, Lucasfilm has released some new stills from the Disney+ series highlighting a number of key moments (expect more, including shots of those big guest stars, on Monday).

With the Razor Crest completely battered by the events of last Friday's episode, Din Djarin is forced to essentially make a crash landing on Trask, and this trio very nearly burn up on reentry! However, just as it looks like the Mandalorian has managed to land successfully, the ship plummets into the sea.

The Razor Crest has really been put through the wringer, and even by the time the episode ends, it's clearly not at 100%. This could explain why the bounty hunter returns to Nevarro, as if anyone can help him sort his ship out, it's Greef Karga and Cara Dune (possibly in the next episode of the series).

Frog Lady made good on her promise and pointed Din Djarin in the right direction of the planet's Mandalorians. Some love the character, others don't, but she's certainly made a memorable impact in the Disney+ TV series. Whether we'll see more of her and her husband remains to be seen.

Seeing Din Djarin and The Child out at sea was a lot of fun, even if it didn't last particularly long! It's something different for Star Wars, and the sight of those Mandalorians blasting out of the sky to help the bounty hunter was downright iconic. Still, it'll be hard to get over the baby almost being eaten!

Amazingly, The Child managed to resist eating any more of Frog Lady's children, but he clearly appeared to be tempted! There was the right amount of Baby Yoda in this episode, and he's now one step closer to being reunited with his people after that huge Ahsoka Tano tease during the final act.

@Kumkani - that whole sequence was pretty funny because it showed how incompetent some imperials are.

Pretty cool the guy in charge was Titus Welliver though

when the ship engine exploded and tipped over to the water I for real made a facepalm motion, not in a "oh god cringe" way but more n a "can this guy catch a break please" way. that is another thing the show dos right, Mando is a badass but he's not infallible, he gets blasted, thrown around, betrayed at every turn, his ship takes a f*cking beating every other episode.

What a [frick]ing knockout episode. Brilliant. Delving more into the Mandalorian mythos is definitely where they should head. I think the baby Yoda story is just about wrapping up. My theory about the rise of the First Order is coming together I suspect. Always great to see Titus Welliver, even if for but a brief appearance. Dude kills everything he's in flawlessly.

As someone who basically only knew Bo-Katan from Wikipedia - damn nice episode! I can only imagine how it was for people who... you know, know this stuff.

These characters don’t seem to age much over decades

@LilJimmy - is there a canon amount of years between the events of Rebels and this? because we know it hasn't been that much since the Empire fell.
also, ehhh, lets chalk it up to lightspeed space travel timey wimey shenanigans.

@Spidey91 - The Mandalorian takes place in 9 ABY, so 10 years after the end of Rebels

I loved this episode, and seeing Bo in live action made me have a fanboy moment. Also this is random guy, I honestly wanna see Cal Kestis and his crew from Fallen Order in season 3 of Mando. Idk it’s maybe me being selfish, but man would I love that.

@JustAChillDude - I was thinking that since this show isn't afraid of using established characters, I kinda wanna see Chewy and a young Ben Solo now. That would cool too

I had the idea Baby Yoda actually bonded with the little frog after it hatched (and not in the "I'm gonna eat you" way). I thought when Frog Lady and Frog Guy united "Baby Yoda better stay far away", because I didn't want to see their happines crushed
