It looks like SyFy Network is adding another comic adaptation to their roster, this time in the form of Rick Remender (
Uncanny X-Force,
Venom, Black Science) and Wes Craig's Image series
DEADLY CLASS.
The comic, which takes readers to a school that trains teenagers to become the world's best assassins, will be executive produced by Joe and Anthony Russo, best known to comic book movie fans as the directors of
CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER, its sequel
CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR, and the upcoming
AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR. The comic series is set in the 1980s and features wild action sequences, young love, cynical teenagers and, of course, punk rock.
Remender himself will be working with producer Miles Feldsott to adapt his creator-owned comic series. The duo will be joined by the aforementioned Russo Brothers, Mike Larocca (
Spy), Adam Targum and Lee Toland Krieger. Targum serves as showrunner while Krieger will direct the pilot episode.
More news on this as it develops.
From Image Comics' synopsis of DEADLY CLASS:
