It was recently revealed that Venom 3 is expected to begin shooting early next month, though it's unclear whether that will still happen considering the ongoing WGA strike. After all, the threequel's writers are lead star Tom Hardy and director Kelly Marcel!
We'll see what happens, but The Cosmic Circus has shared an update revealing the Venom: Let There Be Carnage sequel's working title is "Orwell."
Now, you might think that's a reference to 1984 author George Orwell, but the comic book version of Venom has a link to that name which strongly hints at the possibility of this actually being Venom 3's villain, Orwell Taylor.
As a Lethal Protector, Venom killed Orwell's son, prompting the villain to create a group called The Jury whose sole mission was to kill Eddie Brock. Decked out in Iron Man-like suits, this formidable group was a big part of Venom: Lethal Protector, a series which actually served as the character's first solo comic book title.
The group has ties to the Life Foundation on the page, so you can probably see how all of this will potentially link up.
In fact, it's that organisation which eventually supplies Orwell with a group of man-made Symbiotes, and our theory is Orwell could be the father of Carlton Drake, a.k.a. Riot. The Jury taking aim at Eddie makes perfect sense (especially now the world knows Venom is very much alive and roaming San Francisco), and even if the Drake connection isn't there, this story can still pull heavily from the source material.
At the end of Venom: Let There Be Carnage, SFPD cop Patrick Mulligan seemingly became Toxin, though that scene was shot oddly and it's hard to say what exactly was happening there. He may, however, end up being an unlikely ally to Venom now he's back in his own reality.
Venom 3 doesn't currently have a confirmed release date.
