VENOM: This Japanese Poster Might Be Good Enough To Restore Your Faith In The SPIDER-MAN Spinoff

Following last night's international trailer for Sony's Venom movie, we have an awesome Japanese poster featuring a new look at the comic-accurate antihero of the title. Check it out after the jump...

Yesterday's Venom trailer certainly had its moments, but the general consensus seems to be that Sony's R-rated Spider-Man spinoff is looking a bit... well, to quote the titular beast, "like a turd in the wind."

That said, trailers aren't always a fair representation of the final product, so there's every chance Venom will still surprise us when it hits theatres later this year.

Plus, some of the marketing has been on point. Take this new Japanese poster for example.

Is this enough to restore your faith in Venom? Or did you think the movie already looked awesome and don't get all the negativity?

Sooo... how is it a spin-off if it's not actually being spun off of Spider-Man?

@WeaponXCII - It's a spin off the same way Steel was technically a spin off to a Superman movie that was never made...and they rewrote it to the point Superman doesn't even exist in that universe according to the director...movies are weird man.

@ccxa - you don't come back from the "turd in the wind" line. You can never go back.

Seriously, though, the trailer looked amazing. Venom is done right. Cast is talented. I found the dialogues fit for the character.
So I don't see why most people would think it's a "turd in the wind".

@OuzoPowerMan - ...no Spider-Man...not MCU. For the turds here...too much to process.

@OuzoPowerMan - People want it to be another MCU related comedy-fest. They can't handle darker characters.

@IronGenesis - i dont mind it not being in the mcu but to have it not being related to spiderman at all is a fair complaint

@OuzoPowerMan - I find it annoying how people are saying he needs Spiderman when in the ultimate universe he wasn't entirely a character driven by spidey.
