VENOM's Rating Has Finally Been Revealed Along With The Marvel Movie's Runtime

There's been a lot of debate in regards to whether or not Venom will be R-Rated and we now finally know the answer! With that news comes the movie's runtime so hit the jump to find out the latest details!

Despite rumblings that Venom might receive an R-Rating, it's now been confirmed (as expected) that the Symbiote's first solo adventure will be PG-13. That doesn't mean the movie can't push the boundaries but we can forget about seeing blood, guts, and brains if this rating is any indication!

It's also been revealed that Venom will have
runtime of 1 hour, 52 minutes. That's pretty standard for a blockbuster and the only reason we would have had cause for concern is if it was 90 minutes or less.

There will now inevitably be some comic book fans who are disappointed by this news, especially as an R-Rated Venom movie would have been fun to see. Then again, there's also a risk it could have gone down the route of something like Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, so perhaps this is for the best.

What do you guys think about Venom's runtime and rating? Share your thoughts in the usual place.

Of course it's not R rated. They're obviously trying to make money here

'Member when it was "The R-Rating changes the game. This lowkey has a 99% chance of being the best CBM of 2018, certainly has my attention more than other CBMs in the year that will likely just be good times at the movies"

Now its "Venom looks like a good time at the movies. You fanboys need to quit your bias"

@Kurne - I can think of a few users that would have said this lmao

@Kurne - It has no chance of being best because the CGI is total trash even in the trailers...if they want this to be a jumping off point they should have put a lot more effort into the visual production like the first Ironman.

So tired of this R rating thing. A good script and adequate acting is all that matters. So over this.

PG-13 is for the best. Tired of people wanting studios to force R-Ratings where they don't belong.

@HULK2099 - Wait. You're blaming people for the rated R bandwagon?

That was Sony's lame idea. And it's now conveniently for the best because it's not quality enough to do DP's numbers.

It wont even do better than Ant-man 1 or 2. So quote me on it!

Why would u not?

This movie is about a man who becomes a cannibal.

An R rating could have given it a point of distinction from the MCU and WB as well.

My hope is that (well first, that’s it’s at least decent to begin with) they filmed as rated r, and got to pg-13 with editing and they release a gory R rated cut for home releases.

I definitely would have preferred if it was less than 90 minutes... I'd say more like 0 minutes.

All very typical. Tom Hardy better give one hell of an entertaining performance.

Demoting the rating to PG13 only proves that Sony lacks the confidence in their script that they first had when they jumped on the rated R bandwagon.

It's just another sign of Sony's pathetic desperation and being PG-13 won't be a difference to me.
