BUMBLEBEE's John Cena In Talks To Star As DUKE NUKEM In Paramount's Live-Action Video Game Adaptation
Paramount Pictures has a live-action adaptation of the Duke Nukem video game in the works, and WWE Superstar-turned-actor John Cena has signed on to play the macho cigar-chomping hero. More past the jump.
It's time for John Cena to kick ass and chew bubblegum... but he's all outta gum!
Duke Nukem actually stole that line from the late Rowdy Roddy Piper in They Live, and it's now been revealed that another legendary WWE Superstar will bring the muscle-bound video game hero to life in Paramount's live-action film.
According to THR, Cena (Bumblebee, Trainwreck) is in negotiations to play the notoriously politically incorrect character in a project that's being set up at Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes production company. No director is on board yet, and the search is currently on for a writer.
This seems like a very solid bit of casting, but it'll be interesting to see if the movie stays faithful to the game and goes the R-rated route given the average age of Cena's fan-base.
