CASTLEVANIA Producer Adi Shankar Would Like To Develop A METROID Anime Series Next
With Castlevania on Netflix now and an Assassin's Creed show in the pipeline, producer Adi Shankar has revealed that he would like to make the Nintendo classic, Metroid, one of his next projects.
Adi Shankar has just released his anime version of the popular Nintendo game, Castlevania, on Netflix. The series has garnered mostly positive reviews, and set Shankar up with some momentum as he develops his next anime series, Assassin's Creed.
Shankar sat down with Nintendo Life to chat about the Castlvania series where he was asked about how Assassin's Creed was coming along. "I am working on Assassin’s Creed," he said. "Lots has been decided but I’m not going to reveal any of it. It’s going to be dope."
He was then asked if there was another Nintendo game he'd like to develop, and Shankar answered, "Dark Metroid in the same anime style."
The Metroid series follows Samus Aran, and her exploits in space as she tries to prevent the Space Pirates from harnessing the powers of the parasitic organisms known as Metriods.
There have been rumors for a while that Netflix is looking to bring Nintendo IPs to their streaming network. With the sucuess of Castlevania, which is owned by Konami, possibly being a launching pad, it may pave the way for games like Metroid and The Legend of Zelda getting a series as well.
