Hollywood is now actually taking some strides to adapt the iconic Space Invaders video game into a movie with Bonaventura onboard as director. The classic arcade game was released in 1978. Since then the game has been re-released on multiple platforms including Playstation. With the current trend of Hollywood favoring alien invasion films, it seems as if filmmakers are looking to keep the genre going. The game itself does not have a plot and Bonaventura, who also produced the Transformers trilogy, will have plenty of scope to invent a story for the film. There is no creative team currently assigned onto the film. With Hollywood seemingly out of fresh ideas, who knows what to expect from an adaptation of a game that features a tank moving from side to side.
