With a budget believe to be just shy of $100 million,
Sonic the Hedgehog's current worldwide box office haul of $295 million is more than enough to ensure we get to return to that world.
When we do, we already know that we'll get to spend some time with Tails, but what about this first instalment's human cast? Well, star James Marsden made it clear during a recent interview with
Variety that he's definitely interested in returning to the franchise as Tom Wachowski.
"I don't know if I'm supposed to say," he admitted, adding he would star in "as many as they want to make."
"It is such a good group of people and it was so much fun to see Jim enjoying himself again," the actor said, referring to Jim Carrey's standout performance as Dr. Robotnik. "I think this was his second-biggest opening weekend of all of his movies. I was kind of amazed at that statistic. He just had a big smile on his face and he was hugging everyone. It just felt like it was such a cool thing."
Fans are definitely anxious for a
Sonic the Hedgehog sequel, and it's honestly surprising that it hasn't officially been announced yet. The movie's box office run isn't over quite yet, though, and it's possible that Paramount Pictures wants to see how Digital, DVD, and Blu-ray sales end up doing.
