Assassin's Creed wasn't the turning point for the video game movie genre most of us hoped, so now all eyes are on Tomb Raider. With production kicking off today, director Roar Uthaugh has taken to Instagram to confirm that production has officially begun and that no doubt means we'll get a first look at Alicia Vikander suited up as the iconic video game character in the very near future (this week?).
We have no idea how she'll look, but chances are it won't be too different to the version in the most recent instalments of the franchise based on what we know about the story. Joining Vikander (The Man From U.N.C.L.E.) are Walton Goggins (The Hateful Eight) along with Daniel Wu (Into the Badlands).
Written by Transformers: The Last Knight scribe Geneva Robertson-Dworet, the new Tomb Raider movie is currently set to be released on March 16th, 2018. That was a date originally held by The Flash, but with that no longer having a director, it's unknown when exactly it's now going to come out.
