WONDER WOMAN: You Have To Check Out This Weirdly Awesome New Chinese Poster

To be a hit, Wonder Woman (like all blockbusters these days) will need some help from China. The marketing campaign there has kicked off in a big way, though, starting with this unique new poster!

Wonder Woman is now just a couple of weeks away from being released and with the movie set to hit China the same time it comes out in North America, it won't take long at all until we find out just how much of a hit it's going to be at the worldwide box office. Fans of the Amazon warrior are hoping for a huge opening weekend for the sake of both a sequel and female-led superhero movies in general.

We recently got to see a Chinese trailer for Wonder Woman, but that's now been followed by a very unusual (but surprisingly cool) poster for the movie featuring the titular hero alongside her allies.

Wonder Woman also stars Chris Pine, Robin Wright, Danny Huston, David Thewlis, Ewen Bremner, Saïd Taghmaoui, and Lucy Davis. Directed by Patty Jenkins, the movie will be released on June 2nd, 2017.

Fun Fact: The man that created WONDER WOMAN (Willian Mouton Marston) also created the first LIE DETECTOR. thats where the lasso of truth was inspired.

@kallel - Fun Fact: William Moulton Marston did not create the first lie detector. He was just a huge proponent of it's use and was one of the biggest names to push it, but.. it was being created by multiple people around the same time as the concept was known.. so yeah.

He did, however, create the DISC (dominance, inducement, submission and compliance) behavior assessment tool. His theories were used by Walter Vernon Clarke to be the DISC personality assessment we still use today!

@noahthebest - He was into bondage, but it had deep and complex meanings in the comics. Marston believed that a man submitting to a woman in the bedroom would eventually lead to men being willing to allow women to lead/rule. He felt women were better adapt at it. The bondage in WW has numerous themes, but basically.. if a woman is bound by man (especially Wonder Woman) she lost her powers, she was subservient to him and it was therefor harmful and bad. When women bound men (or other women) it was always done in a good and beautiful way to teach, to grow, to become better.. it was typically called "Loving submission". Marston was 100% aware of his messages and themes and had openly called WW propaganda.

@JanArrah - Well, I knew most of that, I was just putting a summarized version.

@JanArrah - The first machine-powered lie detector was the "systolic blood pressure test" created by the Harvard psychologist William Mouton Marston in 1913. If that name sounds familiar, it's because Marston's best-known creation is actually Wonder Woman
