Hans-Zimmer.com (via FilmMusicReporter) has officially confirmed that Academy Award-winning composer Hans Zimmer will score Warner Bros. upcoming DC adventure, Wonder Woman 1984.

This will be the first time Zimmer, who created Wonder Woman's now-iconic theme, has returned to DC Films in a little over three
years, since composing the score for Zack Snyder's critically-reviled Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Following the underwhelming release of that film, he essentially retired from the superhero genre, but recently had a change of heart when he signed on to score 20th Century Fox's X-Men: Dark Phoenix. His past superhero credits also include Christopher Nolan's acclaimed The Dark Knight trilogy, Warner Bros.' Man of Steel, and Sony's The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Patty Jenkins returns to direct the highly-anticipated sequel with a script she co-wrote alongside Geoff Johns and Dave Callaham. The star cast will feature Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Pedro Pascal, Kristen Wiig, Gabriella Wilde, Natasha Rothwell, and Ravi Patel, amongst others.

Zimmer's upcoming work also includes Steve McQueen's Widows, Simon Kinberg's X-Men: Dark Phoenix, and John Favreau's live-action/CGI adaptation of The Lion King

Fast forward to the 1980s as Wonder Woman’s next big screen adventure finds her facing an all-new foe: The Cheetah.

Wonder Woman 1984 features:
Director: Patty Jenkins
Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman
Chris Pine as Steve Trevor
Kristen Wiig as Barbara Ann Minerva/Cheetah
Pedro Pascal in an undisclosed role
Natasha Rothwell in an undisclosed role
Ravi Patel in an undisclosed role
Gabriella Wilde in an undisclosed role

@knocturnalzen10 - I didn't really care for her 'electric guitar' theme but upon re-watches, it's definitely grown on me.

I can't believe i'm saying this but...I actually have mixed feelings on this.
And it's all because of Rupert G. Williams they composer of the first movie!
He was GREAT and i know he's going to score Aquaman, and i know the Zimmer was the one to come up with the WW theme but daaamn Rupert was also awesome aarrghhh :P

Also, you guys don't know for how long i wanted Zimmer to score an X-Men movie, and it pains me that it's going to be Dark Phoenix smh...
Hopefully one day he'll score a CBM for Marvel Studios, you know...*cough* X-Men reboot *cough* eventually... :P

@Doomsday8888 - Zimmer AND Tina Guo came up with Wonder Woman's theme. But, yes, Rupert G. Williams did a pretty great job on the original soundtrack for Wonder Woman.

It's insane how much I've come around on the Wonder Woman theme. I hated it in BvS, but I really liked how it was used in her solo movie. Hoping Zimmer keeps that up.

Wow, I'm really surprised he signed on for this.

Wasn't he set to score Dark Phoenix??

I swear that was revealed a few months ago.

@knocturnalzen10 - I’m not the biggest fan of Dwayne Johnson, and Michael Bay is usually awful, but I loved Pain & Gain!
And Dwayne was the highlight of the movie
knocturnalzen10
knocturnalzen10 - 8/22/2018, 2:18 PM
@ELAYEM - especially when he's dressed as the ninja for the first kidnapping or cooking human hands in public and waving at the neighbors lol lol lmfao lol i don't think dwayne was acting lmfao

and yes bay is awful

L0RDbuckethead - 8/22/2018, 2:35 PM
@knocturnalzen10 @ELAYEM

I'd have to disagree. It's (arguably) the funniest movie he has been in, but as far as performance, it's gotta be either Walking Tall or The Rundown.

(That was back when he was trying to be a serious actor and not just Box Office Blockbuster Gold)

@L0RDbuckethead - that was the point.... the movie is hilarious because it's not supposed to be .... they even use mentioning within the film to say we're not alternating things about the story. it was the sungym gang a bunch of horrible human beings running around with low intellects kidnapping people lol ..... and that's by far rock's best performance IMO.

he was a man-child and with a temper and a delusional thought process, especially when on the white horse . that film had me in tears lol but to each his own

DON'T BE A DONTER, BE A DOER !!!!!!

L0RDbuckethead - 8/22/2018, 4:04 PM
@knocturnalzen10 - Maybe I just need to re-watch Pain & Gain, it was written by Markus/McFeely after all. Because some of the humor was more miss than hit for me all around. I also kinda felt like Wahlberg & Mackie did better with the comedy than Johnson in that film.

For example, I liked Dwayne's humor in his limited role in The Other Guys better than the humor from his character in Pain & Gain. Humor is subjective though. Like you said, to each their own.

knocturnalzen10 - 8/22/2018, 4:22 PM
@L0RDbuckethead - yea i like sardonic humor and how rock did his role in that film was gold to me ..... his mind of a toddler but the strength of 19 men played so well for the group... like when he threatened the clerk at the hotel , or was doing blow but still threatening the neighbors and the rape prevention meeting lmfao ..... that film is gold to me good sir . not even including when he's explaining to mark's character how he almost killed that priest with his bare hands , but how he's explaining it sounds like a 5 yrs old lol lol lmfao lol or when he blames in court and then comes and sits right next to them afterwards with a big sigh of relief lmfao i'm laughing as i'm typing lol
