Gal Gadot has just announced that filming has finally wrapped on her highly-anticipated DC sequel, Wonder Woman 1984, and she's also shared three new behind-the-scenes photos, featuring her and her Primetime Emmy-nominated director Patty Jenkins on-set.

Filming commenced in early June, so it's been a fairly lengthy six-month shoot, but nothing out of the ordinary for one of these big-budget comic book movies. While we'll have to wait for more details to emerge, additional photography is likely already scheduled for sometime next summer, or possibly even next fall, as Jenkins and company prepare the film for its June 2020 launch.

In addition to Gadot, Primetime Emmy-nominee Chris Pine (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse), Academy Award-nominee Kristen Wiig (Where'd You Go, Bernadette), Pedro Pascal (Game of Thrones), Gabriella Wilde (The Three Musketeers), Natasha Rothwell (Sonic the Hedgehog), and Ravi Patel (Transformers) will also feature.

We did it. Again!! And as much as the first time shooting Wonder Woman was amazing, this time was even more unique and special.. We shot in 4 very different locations in 3 countries, and I'm so soooo proud of the almost 1000 crew members who came to set every day, giving everything they have into our movie. Couldn't ask for better partners on this.. I'm so lucky to have the one and only Patty Jenkins, as my director. She always has our backs, she gives us the wings to dare, and everyday she helped us find the most creative version of ourselves .. I am so grateful to call her my friend. And to our AMAZINGly talented cast who made every day enjoyable and fun, thank you! Honestly.. Words cannot describe this experience.. This journey was so demanding and challenging but we all came and did our very best every take, every day, putting our all out there and I’m so proud... Thank you universe for this opportunity. I love this character. And thank you to all of you for being the best fans in the world. It was you that made me push myself every day. I'm so happy and excited, can't wait to share it with you in 2020! ❤️ Gal

What? Production over 18 months before release? That has to be some kind of record.

@Asturgis - Maleficent 2, wrapped August 2018 and release (for now) May 2020 so 21 months.
Or even The Other Side of the Wind (48 years of post-production

@Oskir - I'm sure there's examples, but I mean, for a comic-book movie? 18 months is crazy.

@Asturgis - IIRC, MOS was in post for 22 months. It's a DCFU thing.

Tbh everything I’ve seen from this movie has made me less and less interested but after Aquaman I’m at least hopeful it’ll be ok. IMO they should have gone the route of the New 52 comics and really doubled down on Greek mythology and the various gods an Demi-gods instead of Cheetah who imo is a pretty shitty villain when not in a team like the Legion of Doom when compared to Hades, Ares, and various other mythology based villains. I was hoping we’d see Hades as the baddy but I’m going to try to stay open to this until I see footage that gives me a better sense of how it’ll pan out
