Movie was garbage. Worse than ffino.
dragon316 - 8/16/2019, 4:48 AM
@rebellion - I like it better from X-men apocalypse but it still need much improvement
rebellion - 8/16/2019, 5:38 AM
@dragon316 - idk, for me, apoc was way better (still a bad film). The dialogue here was the worst ive ever seen. 'Your family is your weakness' - 'no, my family is my strength'. Or 'who are you?' - 'the real question is - who are you?'. And lets not forget 'shes not jean anymore' - 'no, she is still our friend'. Crappiest writing ever.

@rebellion - Holy shit that sounds straight out of Titans
dragon316 - 8/16/2019, 4:50 AM
Didn’t know they where Skrulls I took it as new alien race didn’t know Skrulls can use powers to kill people twisting there insides out as was shown in movie
DalekCraigWasson - 8/16/2019, 4:58 AM
@dragon316 - In the final film, they are named D'Bari, after the species Jean killed in the comic. But that was only after Disney bought Fox and reshoots; originally, they were straight up Skrulls.
sickboy76 - 8/16/2019, 6:34 AM
@DalekCraigWasson - err you do know that reshoots were completed before Disney bought fox right?
Chewtoy - 8/16/2019, 6:40 AM
@DalekCraigWasson - Knowing Fox, and backed up by these various concept works, I sincerely doubt that they were ever “straight up Skrulls”.

Named Skrulls? Sure. But I have doubts that they changed much at all during the reshoots beyond dropping the name.
CaptainAmerica - 8/16/2019, 8:10 AM
@sickboy76 - you do know it was announced before the re shoots right?
sickboy76 - 8/16/2019, 10:33 AM
@CaptainAmerica - except that's not true reshoots were in September last year.
DalekCraigWasson - 8/16/2019, 10:35 AM
@Chewtoy - Tye Sheridan confirmed they were Skrulls when he shot his ending. I agree not much was changed beyond the design and dropping the name, but while not Captain Marvel accurate, I think "straight up Skrulls" still applies as they would have been reptilian shapeshifters named Skrulls.
CaptainAmerica - 8/16/2019, 6:20 PM
@sickboy76 - you’re right it wasn’t announced till October but it was done before then. Marvel was already telling Fox what to do even though they’ve said they had nothing to do with it. Definitely not a coincidence that they were gonna use Skrulls but then changed it last minute, they were also gonna use Skrull Queen and changed that. The ending was also said to be too similar to Captain Marvel.
sickboy76 - 8/17/2019, 1:36 AM
@CaptainAmerica - if you think Disney would be stupid enough to commit collusion over one film that would jeopardise a billion dollar sale you're crazy!
CaptainAmerica - 8/17/2019, 6:42 AM
@sickboy76 - if you think they’d get caught you’re the one who’s crazy lol. I guess it’s just a huge coincidence then huh?
sickboy76 - 8/17/2019, 8:23 AM
@CaptainAmerica - alien invasion, spaceship, all powerful character attacking them. It writes itself.
CaptainAmerica - 8/17/2019, 11:14 AM
@sickboy76 - exactly, so why change the name and look of the aliens? What exactly do they do in the movie? They shape shift, hmmmmmm. Lol so the shape shifting alien race from the film was changed, the 3rd act was changed, and you think it was just that Fox felt like spending more money for no reason?

@SuperCat - She looks constipated in that artwork.
SuperCat - 8/16/2019, 9:06 AM
@L0RDbuckethead - LOL!

For what it's worth, those turtle/flower ships are pretty cool.
MikeyL - 8/16/2019, 5:12 AM
It definitely wouldn’t have saved the film, but I feel the lack of actual Phoenix effects was a poor decision. It’s odd considering they were originally fire effects but they changed them to look more ambiguously cosmic. I don’t know, maybe it’s just me but if a character is called Phoenix I expect a lot of fire.

It’s really amazing to me that Fox could allow their anchor comic book franchise to go this far off the rails.
Spock0Clock - 8/16/2019, 10:18 AM
@Chewtoy - I would make sense if the X-Men movies were Bay Transformers-level popular, but why keep a creative team on when the trajectory is decidedly down like that? Everyone knew that Kinberg was a damp squib, yet he just kept amassing more and more control. Everyone could see the path toward a bigger box office was embracing comic aesthetics like Marvel and Miller's Deadpool did, but they just kept laser focused on Singerized generic costumes and civilian clothes.

Fox was a big part of what made the X-Men so popular, and they did it with this:

...Not with this...

Yet... here we are in 20-[frick]ing-19...

Bokis - 8/16/2019, 7:20 AM
Really cool alien designs but pretty bad Skrull designs
OmegaDaGrodd - 8/16/2019, 7:56 AM
People were really so ready to give up on Fox-Men that Fox screwed up in the *EXACT* way everyone predicted they would and most of us don't even remember it happening until these articles pop up
theFUZZ008 - 8/16/2019, 8:55 AM
Enough with this crap.
