In development for roughly only nine months, it's no surprise the leading stars of Fox & Matthew Vaughn's X-Men: First Class prequel had concerns of how the film would turn out, during. But after viewing the final product, which has received raving reviews, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender & Kevin Bacon have revealed a sigh of relief, via Wenn.

McAvoy says,"I phoned Michael within a half hour (of seeing it) saying, 'Dude, you've got to see this movie really quick because you're gonna be relieved. You're gonna be able to go to the toilet again properly."

"We were worried man because sometimes these things are a nightmare to make and it's well documented so there's no point in hiding out but it turned out really good. I think we always thought it could either be really different and really brilliant or really bad and really different."

Bacon says, "I was completely knocked out and many people who I contacted said, 'I don't think I've ever heard you react to one of your movies like that.' It was also super cool for me because there's so much that I'm not in that I wasn't really seeing it being shot. I didn't see all the sets so a lot of the stuff I was seeing for the first time and the effects are jaw dropping. I had no idea what my own power was gonna look like so I was thrilled."

X-Men: First Class charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga, and reveals a secret history of famous global events. Before mutants had revealed themselves to the world, and before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Not archenemies, they were instead at first the closest of friends, working together with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop Armageddon. In the process, a grave rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto’s Brotherhood and Professor X’s X-Men. Starring James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Kevin Bacon, and January Jones, the film releases June 3!

Haha they still make music videos? Where do they play them? 15 minute blocks between reality show marathons?

As for this movie... I still have my reservations. The critical acclaim is encouraging, and it looks like there is some stunning cinematography at work here, but the character choices are very odd and the series own continuity seems as twisted as a mobius strip. I'll have to wait and see it before I can make any judgements.

@Marvel72 Cross as many fingers as you want. I tried booking tickets for it yesterday, for sometime next week, but they were sold out everywhere. :D

@Codeseven Like I said yesterday, are you gonna actually do any work towards boycotting? or are you mainly focusing on writing the word 'BOYCOTT'?

Actors read the script, show up on the set and film scenes, but have no idea on how good the film will eventually be until the final edit comes out. So much of it is completed in post-production, with the editing and special effects. Most of these guys know that sometimes a movie that looks good from the script and from the actor's point of view turns out to be crap in the final edited version (like Wolverine).

In particular, a period-type superhero movie could turn out to be very cheesy. However, it appears that Matthew Vaughn has put together a very good film. Yeah, the haters hate the fact that it deviates from the comic book continuity. What is far, far more important is whether it is a good movie, not how well it follows the comic.

Let's face it . . . comics revise their base story all the time. Comics are a different medium, and a good story in a comic is not always ideal for a good story in a movie. You should just take the movies as a separate continuum. All the "Boycott" stuff is just plain silly.
