A long list of talented creative teams have tackled the New Mutants for Marvel Comics over the years, but none of them have arguably made the impact Chris Claremont and Bill Sienkiewicz did with the seminal "Demon Bear Saga." That terrifying tale is being loosely adapted for the big screen with Josh Boone's long delayed movie, The New Mutants.
That film takes place in a hospital run by Dr. Cecila Reyes, and after being hit with constant delays, it's finally supposed to be roaring its way into theaters this August. Disney previously pencilled in Fox's final chapter in the X-Men saga for April, but the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic changed everything.
Thankfully, we do have some much-needed good news about The New Mutants this Memorial Day, because Sienkiewicz has confirmed that he provided new artwork for the film's credits.
Boone has confirmed that there will be no post-credits stinger because there wasn't time to shoot it, but this should give comic book fans a compelling enough reason to stick around a few extra minutes as Sienkiewicz's take on these characters is never anything short of unmissable.
