Ben Mulroney with eTalk was in attendance at this years Academy Awards on the red carpet and got the chance to talk to Hugh Jackman who gave us his opinion on what Darren Aronofsky has managed to pull off with 'The Wolverine'

"I did a film with Darren in the past, and his vision with this movie, he's just gonna knock it out of the park with this one."

Not really anything too huge here but it's something I suppose. Either way I'm extremely excited for this movie, Jackman's dedication to the character of Wolverine is outstanding, and the way he is bulking up for the movie, and they have Darren Aronofsky directing, I think this might turn out to be the X-Men movie we've all been waiting for.

'The Wolverine' is set to hit theaters sometime in 2012

Cool find man! ; )

HUGH... I'll give you my opinion on the first Wolverine movie = SH1TE!

As long as this is better than Fox's X-MEN: FIST A$$, it might be good?

Hell, how can you [frick] up WOLVERINE in JAPAN???

Stick a load of Ninjas in there and WHAM!

Try and keep to the excellent Miller story too! ; )

Damn, what am I saying... this is FOX! : D

yeah i'm gonna give this one a chance for a few reasons.

-darren aronofsky directing.
-its not a sequel to x-men origins wolverine.
-its based on the brilliant wolverine limited series.

1.the avengers
2.the wolverine
3.amazing spider-man

the best cbm's of 2012.

@Marvel72 Really? Did you forget a movie when listing the top CBMs of 2012? The sequel to the greatest CBM ever, not to mention the most successful? Come on the TDKR will be best of 2012 while Avengers, The Wolverine and Amazing Spider-Man will all rock.

Doesn't he say that about every Wolverine movie he does... Marvel needs to regain the rights and go from there. Until then, there is no hope to anything related to the X-Men.

2012 and 2011 Awesome years and if Superman gets in their too but WB wants to let that one be it's 2013 standout if the Mayans let us live another year!!

@Lee...Is it know how much of the story was Miller and how much was Claremont?

Whats with that WeaponX dude? As I can recall, I've never seen him post anything but that.

Seriously if they just stick to the source material this will be good. Slight changes could work. Any major deviations and the flick may be doomed from the fan perspective.

@Assassin666

Im not sure I agree with your statement about dedication to THORs build, Hemsworth is a monster when he is trying to pick up Mjolnir.

You guys seeing how big Hugh is looking in his tux at the Oscars? His neck is wide, shoulders and arms look big, all is consistent with the weight gain needed to bring the real Wolvie to life. I'm stoked.

AGREED!!! I want the suit...NOW!!!

plus, Omega Red could be entirely epic!!! I've never read the graphic novel tho of the Japan arc...is omega red in it??? I dont really care for Silver Samurai...

Plus, Am I the only one who would really like a Sabretooth reference or cameo???

perhaps a shadowy figure that follows him across the world...An opening fight somewhere perhaps... ;D

Bros gotta stick together forever! Could be an EPIC intro scene or just a cool reference to the character!!

I hope they use sabretooth SOMEHOW! Was he in the Japan arc at all either??

Zombie- Hemsworth is far from a monster. He has a swimmers build, nothing more. They should have thrown him back in the gym for six more months to get the look right. I'm not bashing the movie, but I wanted Thor to look like someone you would not want to fight. Hemsworth looks like a biker who rides a Honda instead of a Harley.

yeah not to be a complainer but isnt that what is always said? ...i mean how often do actors (when promoting their movie) say "yeah the director i'm working with sucks and the script is a joke. This movie is going to horrible." ...dont get me wrong, i like Hugh Jackman and i like Darren Aronofsky but...i'm not getting my hopes up yet. Hes said X3 would be great and Origins would be great...and neither were.

@assassin if you think hemsworth has a swimmers build then you obviously dont know what a swimmers build is. He bulked up such an enormous amount for this movie. I'd say probably more so then hugh jackman did for origins.

@Marvel72: i have to agree with Batmn27...TDKR will most definitely and without a doubt top all those movies. ...while i am looking forward to them...and Cap America, Thor, and the Avengers have all got me really excited --i've been waiting for a Captain America movie since i was a kid-- TDKR will absolutely better them.

...........
@Assassin6 I'd love to see you fight Chris Hemsworth lol he would tear you apart...hahaha he's F'in HUGE.
...........

@grif...LOL oh grif never a nice thing to say...you life must be a sad and pathetic one.
superpooper
superpooper - 2/27/2011, 11:58 PM
@grif Exactly. I hate Hugh Jackman. I get the impression that he feels like he's solely responsible for Wolverine being the icon that he is. Jackman hasn't done anything but confuse non comic fans as to who the character is truly meant to be. Furthermore, since his version of Wolverine is unfortunately the ONLY version most non-comic fans will ever see, it looks like the comic books themselves are being forced to follow suit and more or less cave into something that was ultimately set in motion by BRYAN SINGER. That my friend...is the TRUE CRIME.

music- Hemsworth tear me apart? I've dedicated my life to the gym as well as thirty years of martial arts, I'd have his arm ripped off his body and shoved up his ass before he knew what hit him. You must be one of those skinny emo kids if you really think he's huge, but you go on and keep being impressed by him.
superpooper
superpooper - 2/28/2011, 1:46 AM
@assassin666 Yeah, I'd say Dbol for sure, and more then likely anadrol for that quick watered down gain. Once I saw how quick he lost it I knew for sure. Evans too...he didn't retain shit. That's why I laugh when they say "pinnacle of human perfection" lol. They took pictures at the peak of his bulking cycle when he looks like 'the pilsbury dough boy" lol. He should've cut longer.

Cool find dude! I'm cautiously optimistic about this movie. Didn't enjoy Black Swan all that much, but The Wrestler is one of my favourite films. Aronofsky + Jackman, surely = some sort of EPIC WIN! :)

With The Black Swan's director in charge my expectations for this film are almost higher than for The Dark Knight Rises, regardless of what Hugh Jackman says.
