The reviews are in, and there's no doubt X-Men: Apocalypse hasn't been as well received as Days of Future Past - that said, plenty of critics loved it, too.

Pretty much every review mentions a heightened sense of fun and more humor than we're used to from Bryan Singer's mutant movies, and this latest TV spot plays up to that.

Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel's X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.

X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters on May 18.

Man some of the lines are so cheesy and I can't stand how the series revolves around JLaw. Let it die a horrid death and be rebooted properly. Fox has the money and they have been patching things up with Marvel.

X-Men (Mutants) have such a huge and rich library of stories to choose from. Start fresh and go nuts Fox! You can do it!

@Clark4President - I wouldn't even say that tbh. No trailer has even got me close to hyped for this. The movie honestly looks like been there done that. Doesn't help matter that.....SHE is in this movie.

But there is one scene i'm looking forward to seeing.

Even though its obvious she survives (damn trailers showing the costumes they get at the END OF THE [frick]ING MOVIE)

@Mrcool210 - yeah that's right! those trailers were REAAAAALLY overwhelming, the polar opposite of DOFP trailers.
But I believe people are starting to get off the Lawrence bandwagon, next chick to get over-exposure seems to be Vikander.
