"We want to tell the Apocalypse story and there's massive scale and scope to telling that story. There's going to be set pieces that I suspect are going to be bigger than anything we've ever done in an X-Men movie before and he's a great character. The biggest and funnest challenge of the Apocalypse movie to me is his character. How do you create a new villain for the X-Men world that is as good as any villain that's come before, is compelling philosophically as Magneto, not just in his physical powers, but in his philosophical depth. 'Apocalypse' is going to be a fun movie to write and make."

X-Men: Apocalypse is currently set for release on May 27, 2016.

I will say this, and feel free to disagree with me.

McKellen's Magneto as well as Fassbender's Magneto are stronger than any other Marvel comic book movie villain on screen.

2nd is probably Doc Ock from Spider-Man 2. Kevin Bacon's Shaw is also up there.

Looking forward to Apocalypse

It's real easy to mess up Apocalypse looks
Best thing is to make him look exactly from the comics

i agree 110 percent, Mckellen is fantastic as Magneto but i find Fassbender's Magneto to be a bit more compelling,same with Stewart and McAvoy's Xavier,i find Mcavoy's Xavier to be abit more compelling, thats my favorite dynamic of these movies mostly because i find the journey of them becoming the men they will be fascinating

And I concur; Magneto (whether it's McKellen or Fassbender), blows any other Marvel villain that's been put on film out of the water.

Lmao @Omega. xD

@Thewonderer

I agree with you but why do you need to mention the other Marvel films when praising the X-Men? Funny enough, the X-Men movie all end with Magneto as the villain. I know there's Stryker and Shaw BUT Magneto has always been the main villain in these films and he's always had the same motivation. I wanna see other X-men villains and I'm glad Apocalypse is coming into play.

And yes, Doc Ock is right beneath them, although while it's a great performance by the very underrated Alfred Molina, the Magnetos blow him out of the water.
