Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides captures the fun, adventure and humor that ignited the hit franchise—this time in Disney Digital 3D™. Johnny Depp returns to his iconic role of Captain Jack Sparrow in an action-packed tale of truth, betrayal, youth and demise. When Jack crosses paths with a woman from his past, he’s not sure if it’s love—or if she’s a ruthless con artist who’s using him to find the fabled Fountain of Youth. When she forces him aboard the Queen Anne’s Revenge, the ship of the formidable pirate Blackbeard, Jack finds himself on an unexpected adventure in which he doesn’t know who to fear more: Blackbeard or the woman from his past.

Starring Johnny Depp, Penelope Cruz and Ian McShane, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides is set to be released in 3D on May 20, 2011!

Thanks guys. :) The first movie in the franchise was the only one I really enjoyed...the second and third one were just too long, and I personally found them far less fun and interesting despite the obviously bigger budget and better special effects. I'll give this fourth one a chance though. I saw the trailer in 3D when I went to see Tron: Legacy and it was damned impressive! The story looks more enjoyable as well.

Oh yeah, gotta give this one a chance. The most annoying actors and their romantic subplot are gone! Plus, Ian McShane is going to be a great addition. How scary is that guy?

Wicked Flag!

Nice going Josh@!

Ian's gonna be kickbutt in this as
Black Beard! Talk about perfect casting!

Man, Ian's got an amazing acting range.
He was wonderful in Lovejoy on Brit TV
as the irascible Antiquer!
Then he goes to that bastard Swearengen
on Deadwood!
Wow, what a vast acting ability!

Hopefully they get back to the tight
little fun kind of story the first one was!
The other two were bloated and confusing!

Ian was really good in Pillars of the Earth as well. I'm looking forward to this.

So Penelope Cruz is in this..wonder if Orlando is making a comeback.

Penelope is going to look good dressed like a pirate.

I second everything Mass and DDD said. And I would also like to add that the Queen Anne's Revenge is also one of my favorite Flogging Molly songs of all time. That is all. :)

They should have used Blackbeard's (Edward Teach) actual flag. He was, after all, a real pirate.

It is my understanding that it is a Black Beard siege that the Disneyland ride is based one, it will be interesting to see if they do anything to tie the movie to the ride.

Man, **** Hollywood. That flag is not possible to make in that era. Blackbeard is a legend. His flag has meaning like all flags do. It shouldn't just look cool. That sh*t looks like a Warhammer flag.

@JoshW - I know what you mean. The same thing happened with the Matrix films. The first one was great but they went overboard with the second and third movies. Too long and too much crappy cgi.

You took the words right out of my mouth BeeneMachine! It seems like every movie these days that has an ounce of historical fact in it veers off into the fantastic and revises history. Cases in point:

National Treasure 1&2
Pirates of the Caribbean (all of them)
Any movie about the OK Corral
I could go on but I'm bored now.
