Bond 23 for November 2012?

Bond 23 for November 2012?

MGM may have filed for bankruptcy on Wednesday, but according to Commanderbond.net, it hasn't derailed plans for the next James Bond movie, with 007 expected to return to theatres in November 2012.

Reports Commanderbond.net, "It’s not set in stone, but MGM has announced that new James Bond films starting with Bond 23 may be released every second year starting in November 2012. Right now MGM is only wanting to own 50 percent of Bond 23 with an equal partner paying all of the production costs. Further 007 adventures would be wholly owned and funded by MGM... Still unknown is whether MGM plans to continue to distribute the James Bond films. Much speculation has been made saying they won’t which could open a battlefront for distribution rights to the lucrative series. Columbia Pictures, Warner Bros, Fox, and Paramount are said to already be in contention."

Naturally the studio will have to go through the bankruptcy process before definite plans settle out.

They need to keep making Bond. Those movies are timeless.

Clive Owen should've been the new Bond. And I second Number21's comment times a million!

That's good news. It's ridiculous that they didn't set things in motion to get a sequel out this year as soon as Quantum of Solace was released and did well. Still, I'm just glad that the franchise is still alive...it'd be good to wrap up the ongoing storyline, and then introducing a new Bond. Good stuff ED!

I hope Warner Bros. partners, they are the only studio I trust these days. I haven't seen a bad WB produced movie in a very long time.

The idea, I believe,is that MGM has the property, and another company will put up production costs and cover distribution, for which they will get a large percentage of the gross -- and they get to be in the Bond business.

Craig is second only to Connery (who will forever be THE quintessential James Bond). If the studio screws up this incarnation somebody needs to suffer some brutal blunt force trauma. The next movie needs to happen just so we can delve more into what Quantum is and how much far their agents have infiltrated MI6.

It's driving me crazy that this is unfortunately taking so long. They need to get more Bond's made with Craig.

Casino Royale was a masterpiece in the Bond franchise. I'd like to see Craig do at least 4 films before retiring from the role, but he ain't getting any younger.

The need to finish up what they started with the last two Bonds. It will be epic. Bond is the S**T! No one gets it done like Bond. I agree with Angelus that Clive Owen should be the new Bond after Craig. But By that time he may be too old.

@ Ckal

I know, but other than Tim Dalton (who unfortunately only did two films) all the actors looked a bit old in their last films. Brosnan looked great in D.A.D., but some scenes he still showed some age.

Obviously Moore was the worst of them, he stayed for about 2-3 movies too many.

I just don't want to see Craig go the same route. I know he's younger and in MUCH better shape than the rest, but, time does march on, and it's been awhile since Quantum.

Niceee, I miss Bond and I hope it really comes back in 2012, and it being released every second year from 2012 will be awesome, I hope Craig at least does more 3, then bring Clive Owen to the role.
