Universal Pictures has released a new TV spot for one of the biggest releases of the summer, Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, which will see the odd couple of Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) and Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) team-up to take on the most formidable villain they've ever faced: a cyber-genetically enhanced anarchist named Brixton (Idris Elba), a.k.a. Black Superman.

In addition the main trio, the cast will feature Vanessa Kirby (Mission: Impossible - Fallout) as Hattie Shaw, Eiza González (Baby Driver) as Madam M, and Helen Mirren (The Fate of the Furious) as Magdalene Shaw. Supporting players will also include Lori Pelenise Tuisano, Cliff Curtis, Roman Reigns, Josh Mauga, and John Tui as members of Luke Hobbs' extended family.

Ever since hulking lawman Hobbs (Johnson), a loyal agent of America's Diplomatic Security Service, and lawless outcast Shaw (Statham), a former British military elite operative, first faced off in 2015’s Furious 7, the duo have swapped smack talk and body blows as they’ve tried to take each other down.

But when cyber-genetically enhanced anarchist Brixton (Idris Elba) gains control of an insidious bio-threat that could alter humanity forever — and bests a brilliant and fearless rogue MI6 agent (The Crown’s Vanessa Kirby), who just happens to be Shaw’s sister — these two sworn enemies will have to partner up to bring down the only guy who might be badder than themselves.

Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw features:
Director: David Leitch
Dwayne Johnson as Luke Hobbs
Jason Statham as Deckard Shaw
Idris Elba as Brixton
Vanessa Kirby as Hattie Shaw
Roman Reigns in an undisclosed role
Eddie Marsan in an undisclosed role
Eiza González as Madam M
Cliff Curtis in an undisclosed role
Josh Mauga in an undisclosed role
John Tui in an undisclosed role
Helen Mirren as Magdalene Shaw

@TanukiTrooper - That movie would be awesome! I know the creator of that comic strip said the reason Calvin & Hobbs won't ever get a movie is because he doesn't want to diminish those characters, by having the movie being in 3D and has said it can only work in hand drawn animation and even then he has said he thinks it could impact the love for those characters.

As much as I'd enjoy that movie I can understand not wanting to risk hurting your baby, by handing the property off to someone else.

Even Charles M. Schulz wasn't a fan of the Peanuts cartoons and said he wanted no more Peanuts films or cartoons before he died, yet his kids didn't care about his wishes and approved the big screen version.

So I don't see Bill Watterson approving any movie soon. The sad part is I can see his family not honoring his wishes and approving of a movie, or film. I'd love to be proven wrong and him approving of it, giving his blessing for the film, plus having a say in how it should be filmed, but as of right now I don't see a film happening soon.

Someone please post a gif or meme of Tyrese crying, it would all make perfect sense now.

This movie looks like a good bit of ridiculous fun. Vin Diesel needs to get over this rift and just play ball. That the franchise has made it this far is pretty nonsensical.
