@KingPatel Turns out Supergirl won't be a part of the Arrowverse

@Kr08 - makes sense. We call it the "Problem of the Supermen" quandary. It is a problem facing all comic film studios...basically...how to involve these dominating super human heros and still maintain drama, stakes, narrative flow and any semblance of the need for other members of the team.

Case in point. Superman.

What problem does Green Arrow face that Superman couldn't handle in 30 minutes. Superman could have Arrows enemies behind bars before they even know they moved.

Marvel has same problem with The Vision. All powerful being fueled by an infinity stone. Was there really any way Civil War the movie happens if they are logical about what The Vision can do with his powers? Nope.

So then it becomes a game. A game played by the studios to manufacture "plausible" reasons why these "Supermen" are NOT around. Reasons that will apply and and at least appease a properly functions adult human brain

Superman - They Killed him
Supergirl - Alternate Earth
The Vision - Left him at home / and something else

Might even toss Professor X into those scenarios...with his ability to shut everyone down they have had to manufacture some stuff in almost everyone.

X1 - Coma
X2 - Captured / Druged
X3 - Dead
X FC - Magneto Helmet
X Dofp - Gave up Powers
X A - Captured and brain locked
Logan - Old and Senile

@IronGenesis - noticed they did that with Vision in Civil War; he was wierdly absent in the opening fight in Lagos. Then he didn't show up till halfway through the airport fight. But he's awesome so I don't mind.

@connorblaze - and that is a big win for Marvel. They made it cool enough that their core audience didn't care that the whole thing should have been over in seconds...but then again...people want to see Civil War and all the cool things, not Vision phase in and out of walls in 2 minutes and shut everyone down.

The movie doesn't work if Vision is allowed to be Vision.

Just like Justice League wouldn't work if Superman was alive from the beginning.

Just too powerful.

@Kr08 - I like it. It reminds of the times Superman would fly to the 30th century when they needed him, or when the JSA/JLA would meet up annually across multiverse zones.

Yeah true, and those points apply to the comics as well.

The reason why Superman isn't fighting everyone's villains is partly because he's busy with his own (and his day job), and partly because if Superman could fly around the world and clean up Batman, The Flash, Green Arrow or Lanterns rouges there would be no need for other comic titles.

They mostly get around it by saying he can't be everywhere at once, which is true, and some heroes (like Batman) don't want him 'heroing' in their cities.

Still, you're right he could clean them up if he wanted to easily.

Marvel has same problem with The Vision. All powerful being fueled by an infinity stone. Was there really any way Civil War the movie happens if they are logical about what The Vision can do with his powers? Nope.

Powerful? Sure. All powerful? I'm not so sure.

Considering how Scarlett Witch shut him down with ease.
I'd say SHE'S more powerful if she can do that to Vision.

He was helpless when she hexed him.
She even made him intangible then tangible and sent him through multiple floors. If she wanted to, she could probably do more to him.

Who knows how he'd fair against Doctor Strange's magic.

This version of Vision isn't really the equivalent of the DCEU's Superman. He's definitely a heavy hitter though.

@MikeHawk - Shot in China, by a Chinese director. SJW's only people care about that nonsense.

@MikeHawk - The director came out and defended the casting of Matt Damon:

“Matt Damon is not playing a role that was originally conceived for a Chinese actor. The arrival of his character in our story is an important plot point. There are five major heroes in our story and he is one of them – the other four are all Chinese.”

He also said that “For the first time, a film deeply rooted in Chinese culture, with one of the largest Chinese casts ever assembled, is being made at tentpole scale for a world audience. I believe that is a trend that should be embraced by our industry.”

I think Matt Damon's presence in the movie is important since it will draw a non asian audience to the theater. If this movie is succesful it could totally open the gates for more asian actors getting parts in big movies.
