Sly posted the following message to his fans amidst backlash for including a monster element to his new Rambo film.

"I’m letting you know that Rambo has changed course and the story about hunting the man/beast will be done using another character in the lead. RAMBO himself will be heading over the border to a violent city where many young women have vanished .

There will be blood."

- I was kinda stoked about this wierd plot...But what's really interesting is that he's saving the monster for another character....ROCKY VS MANBEAST! Or maybe - STOP! Or my Mom will shoot the Manbeast...I could go on..

I thought it was gonna be more a super soldier type of thing myself!?

Oh well it would've been different, maybe RAMBO does a few rounds now with his buddies playing chess in RAMBO 5! : D

I'm glad, as unreal as Rambo is it was never a creature feature type of a movie.
I liked the last one and the first one so I have high hopes for the next one.

I'm glad too! Too bad it had to come amidst fan backlash. It should have been self-evident that it was atypical of the entire arc of the character. The manbeast idea is cool, but not with John Rambo.

yeah, as much as I'd like to see Arnold's Dutch and Sly's Rambo take on the Predator, scifi battles are not what Rambo is about. Send him to Afghanistan or something, where he can fight people not monsters.

Really? I never heard that one. It makes sense, dutch and rambo are pretty close. But then again so are most of sly's and arnie's rolls.
