As Josh reported at the beginning of the year, a movie adaption was looking increasingly unlikely because of script issues. However, now we have some more concrete information from Kiefer Sutherland (who plays character Jack Bauer) as to the current situation. Here’s what he said:

"I think [the script] will [change] up until the day we start shooting, and probably from that point forward, too. It's a very difficult thing to take something that you've done for eight years, almost 200 episodes, and try and find a story that's going to be unique and yet service the history of the show as well. That is to be expected. So we start shooting hopefully by next December or January."

So perhaps the problems with the script weren't as serious as first thought? Either way, shooting is definitely intended to commence in eight months time!
