LEGENDS OF TOMORROW Promotes Adam Tsekhman To Series Regular; Season 6 Will Delve Into Gary Green's Origin

DC's Legends of Tomorrow is not set to return until early next year, but when it does, get ready for a whole lot more Gary Green as Adam Tsekhman has finally been promoted to series regular status!

Entertainment Weekly is reporting that DC's Legends of Tomorrow has finally promoted Adam Tsekhman to series regular for the upcoming sixth season, which is expected to premiere in early 2021.

Tsekhman has recurred as the mild-mannered Gary Green since the third season premiere, always doing his best to help the Legends (well, not so much the year he was evil) even though they weren't actually keen on him joining their ranks. However, with the team down a few key members - and temporarily without a captain - it looks like season six will finally see Gary get his wish, as EW has confirmed that he will indeed become a full-fledged member of the team.

Fans will also get a chance to further delve into Green's past, as the season promises to tell his origin story. The official character description from The CW reads, "He’s also not the mild-mannered goofball that our team of superheroes have taken him for all these years. Season 6 will explore Gary’s origin story. It’s even more bizarre than you would imagine..."

We know that aliens will be next season's big bads, so it's probably fair to wonder whether Gary will be revealed as an E.T., especially considering his many eccentricities.

Having spent last season trying to track down the Loom of Fate in order to bring back their slain comrades, the Legends must now save history from a foe like none they’ve encountered in the past or future. Co-captains of the time-ship Waverider Sara Lance and Ava Sharpe have dealt with monsters, time anomalies, and most recently, villains from Hell, but this season they will face something even more challenging and bizarre … space aliens! After one of their own is abducted by a ruthless alien, this new mission becomes personal. It will take more than the combined powers of a dark magician, John Constantine; a semi-reformed arsonist, Mick Rory; historian who transforms into steel, Nate Heywood; and a brother-sister wind-totem-wielding duo, Zara Tarazi and Behrad Tarazi to save the world for a sixth time. They must recruit a new Legend, a woman who was abducted by aliens when she was a child and supposedly imbued with powers that will help the team defeat their intergalactic foes. Either that or she’s just crazy…

Legends Of Tomorrow features:
Caity Lotz as Sara Lance/White Canary
Tala Ashe as Zari Tomaz
Jes Macallan as Ava Sharpe
Olivia Swann as Astra Logue
Nick Zano as Dr. Nate Heywood/Commander Steel
Dominic Purcell as Mick Rory/Heat Wave
Matt Ryan as John Constantine
Shayan Sobhian as Behrad Tarazi
Lisseth Chavez as Esperanza "Spooner" Cruz
Adam Tsekhman as Gary Green
Amy Louise Pemberton as Gideon

i like Gary but only in small doses.

@FishyZombie - Absolutely same here. But there have been times where he's had a big role in certain episodes that I thought he was fine in (in the last season for example when he was on his own in the ship). I could see it either working or not. With this show, who knows?

I honestly can’t stand Gary. Worst part of the show by far.

@THEREALPAPERKUT - You spelled Mona wrong

I agree, Gary is not that much of a great character (not the actor's fault tho, I think he's great).

The team changed a lot since season 1 and it's sad that the only characters I like are Nate and Constantine.

It seems they are saying that the only way to make him a more integral part of the show is to completely reinvent the character. Feels like it has "Fail" written all over it.

@pclark - I mean, they were building him up as Constantine's apprentice last season so I would hope theyre going to evolve his character a big.

Yepppp....one of the reasons I am done.Season 1 and 2 were the best. This show is just not made for me, shame cuz I loved it the early seasons. It kind of pisses me off that we lose Arrow and now Supergirl and this is what survives. I am current on Legends but that is only because we had a global pandemic and my work shut down for 3 months.

Gary is good in short bursts as a supplementary character.

Man, nobody gives two shits about this guy. Ray Palmer leaves the show for whatever the [frick] reasons and suddenly of all characters, THIS useless asshole is what ppl wanted see more of? Brain dead. Also Ryan Choi. Where the hell is he?

I really don’t care about Gary at all, I really don’t see why the show is so focused on pushing more of him. You’d think a DC Comics based show would want to put more focus on DC Comics characters. Instead they give us a random Warewolf, Android, and nerd to replace characters like Firestorm, Captain Cold, and Atom. I love the show, but at this point, I wouldn’t be too bummed if they needed it soon.

I love Legends as part of the whole arrow verse, but after they cancelled Supergirl and arrow ended we are left with these less than the main shows if Flash comes to an end I really wouldn't care for the arrow verse anymore, just would of liked one final massive cross over with all the shows but can't see were to go from here now

They should have honestly canceled this show instead of canceling Supergirl.

I like Gary, I just hope this doesn't go as poorly as it did making Mona a regular. Gary is so much better than she ever was, but its a similar situation- too much of something can backfire.

I don't watch this show so I just thought that was Gotham's Riddler lol

This show became a parody of itself so quickly, I didn't even notice.

Didn't they learn anything from Animal House? Characters like these are best used as a spice, not as the main dish!

I liked Gary in the beginning when there was still some mystery to him. Over the past 2 seasons though he has become unbearable to watch and in my opinion is by far the worst part of this show.
