The supporting cast consists of 4x Academy Award-nominee Ethan Hawke (Training DayThe Black Phone) as Arthur Harrow and May Calamawy (RamyThe Long Road Home) in an undisclosed role.

Jeremy Slater (Fantastic FourThe Umbrella Academy) is serving as showrunner, with Mohamed Diab (Clash; Amira) directing four of the six episodes and the duo of Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead (Something in the DirtSynchronic) helming the other two installments.

@ThankMeLater - I cant get excited for this. Every show so far has made some really weird decisions

@Matchesz -
Agreed, nothing really clicked in this trailer. The music choice felt off, the editing felt weak and it felt like it was trying too desperately to be scary/serious and the moments they lingered on that Disney meant to be moments of laughter just felt rather empty and hollow.

Pass.

@Matchesz - Can you expand on this just a bit? I’m incline to agree with you, but I’m curious what decisions you disagreed with. For me, other than Loki, the majority of the Disney + shows felt a bit too manufactured and overall limited by the nature of the platform.

@Matchesz - I think it looks good, but I have to say I'm not the biggest fan of the costume attaching itself to him in that one scene.

Hopefully that's just one scene that's in his head. I'm not thrilled at the idea of his costume being supernatural. His only supernatural power is that his strength is affected by the phases of the moon. I would prefer him to be a guy that just puts on a costume.

Maybe they're trying to remove any thoughts people might have of him being a Batman knockoff? I don't know. Just a guess, because it feels like they're trying to make him "cooler" when it isn't necessary.

@PantherKing - People forget this is who Issac is...He's been doing character driven work for a long time, see Inside Llewyn Lewis. There hasn't been an actor this ready for a role since Robert. He's gonna kill it with good writing.

@PantherKing - Wasn't there other personalities? Been a while, but I thought one was a cab driver or something like that.

This is the best a Marvel show has looked. Wow. Also, looks light on the humor which is a nice change. Very different tone of what we’re accustomed to.

Spike101 - 1/18/2022, 6:19 AM
@bornlikethis - hopefully they are learning that humour is not always required unless it actually fits the character and the scene. Some people can actually watch a show if a movie without the need to have a funny bit every few minutes 😉
TheLobster
TheLobster - 1/17/2022, 10:07 PM
The trailer got held back by the silly use of Cudi’s “Day N Nite” and how choppy a lot of the editing was… but this looks still looks awesome!
suitekid
suitekid - 1/17/2022, 10:28 PM
@TheLobster - Cudi only ever improves things and this was no different.
TheLobster
TheLobster - 1/17/2022, 10:30 PM
@suitekid - I love Cudi but I hate when trailers have contemporary music in trailers. It immediately dates it and a score or even some generic score would have been better.
Toonstrack
Toonstrack - 1/17/2022, 11:07 PM
@TheLobster - Cudi the man on the moon was a perfect fit for this trailer
Armageddon26
Armageddon26 - 1/17/2022, 11:12 PM
@TheLobster - Day N Nite is almost 15 years old at this point, it’s not some random contemporary song, it’s a modern classic. And it’s fitting with the whole “Man on the Moon” persona Cudi has
UncleHarm1
UncleHarm1 - 1/17/2022, 11:49 PM
@Toonstrack - Between this, Don't Look up, and The Harder They Fall, Kid Cudi is taking over Hollywood. The Mescudissance has begun.
