Iron Man: Armored Adventures is an animated series on Nicktoons that follows Tony Stark’s journey into adulthood. It is a new take on the character that doesn’t follow the continuums of the previously released Iron Man animated or live action films.

Here is the concept art Marvel has just released that shows many different takes on the Mandarin character:

MPP- When I first read the teaser for this article at Marvel.com I was hoping to see prospective images of the Mandarin for his inclusion in the film. Though I’ve never watched Iron Man: Armored Adventures , I can now safely assume that Marvel is planning on including the Mandarin as a full-fledged baddie in one of the next Iron Man movies.

What do you think? Should the Mandarin be a major villain in one of the Iron Man movies, or should he stay as an off screen presence?

The cartoon is not too bad but I have missed so many episodes that I have no idea what is going on. I hope they do bring the Mandarin into the movies. It would be nice to see IronMan go up against him.

mehhh hard to tell from this.

The "P" and "W" look pretty good, but like you said Poni, I'd rather see something more fleshed out before I make that call.

What the heck is that first pic a bug mandarin?

I always thought a cool movie would be to have Iron Man and Thor mixing it up against Mandarin and Fin Fang Foom.

He should be in the third movie.

I thought this was for IM III too bad. I actually like the idea of an ancient, armored looking Manderin for live action.

Hey @ STRANGE it might make IM 3!!! Perfect costume for it anyway!

Pity though this is for the IM animated boy adventures coz that cartoons sh1t, total waste of time!

Ive just caught a few shows, urgghhhh its really bad!

Mandarin's alien technology was just supposed to be his ten rings I thought. If I know the Iron Man stuff correctly it was originally supposed to be magic but then they ended up saying they were alien.

Awseome, I'm still waitng to see The Mandarin in the Iron Man movie, it could be a challenge to make a magic villain in a real tech. world, but it could be interesting. I've wanted him to be in the 2nd film after I saw the 1st film.

Hell yeah he should. Mandarin is to Iron Man what Lex and Joker are to Supes and Bats.

SHHH @ Your right, this really is a terrible cartoon!

Its a pity coz the movie is amazing, why the [frick] didn't they follow that or the comics??

P.s. That armor up top though still look awesome!

@ Jerusalem: Nah man. Mandarin found the rings on the hand of a dead alien.
They aren't magic, but it seems like they are because they are so powerful, and can do so many interesting things.

I have never seenthis cartoon. Maybe it's different there, but personally I think the classic version s pretty cool without dessing him up like a Samurai from mars

I think teasing him for two movies would be good the way they did with the lizard in the first two spidey films. But anything more teasing than that would be mean and lame. I also don't think a direct from comicbook adaptation would be wise. But if they somehow incorporated the terrorist group angle like in the first film, that would be brilliant.

supermarioworldE - 11/4/2009, 12:56 PM
He looks more like the shredder in those pics. Or perhaps the shredder looks more like him.

And yes, an Iron Man movie with Mandarin = Awesomeness. He IS tony's best villain.
thunderforce
thunderforce - 11/4/2009, 2:15 PM
I hope they dont drop anything magic from all these movies that would suck for dr strange.

Looks good, but to much pointy stuff.
JerusalemJr
JerusalemJr - 11/4/2009, 2:31 PM
Thunderforce - I don't think they can, Thor would end up being a really odd movie with no magic.
Verdugo
Verdugo - 11/4/2009, 2:33 PM
As much as I like the Mandarin, I don’t think he goes well with the tone of the first movie. And before you kindly remind me that there was some kind of set up for him to show up in the sequels, that set up made him sound like a terrorist, not a villain with magic alien rings.

Ahhh. Frank Castle1 beat me to it. Anybody who has a background on asian culture knows that these armours are more samurai inspired-- meaning Japanese. Great costume designs though.

With regards to the viability of Mandarin's mysticism in Ironman, one should note that many chinese business men still believe and implement Fung shui in their business even if it is technologically related. Mistical stones and crystal can still be incorporated in the chinese tech culture. I'm not sure about Fin Fang Foom-- he can either be a software, machine, bio- genetic creation enhanced by alien crystals.

I 'm with MovieTheaterLad for Colin Chou would be a great Mandarin.

No offense, but that show really really sucks. Those concept pics are cool though.
CaptainFalken
CaptainFalken - 11/4/2009, 6:18 PM
I have to agree with those saying the show is crap. It follows Tony Stark as a teenager and says he created the suit then? Lame, totally lame. I saw the early episode with the bonus dvd with Iron Man the movie and was utterly disappointed.

ADAMFALCON IF YOU DONT LIKE THAT SHOW DID YOU SEE THE TRANSFORMERS ON CARTOON NETWORK WHICH THAT CARTOON TAKES PLACE IN OF ALL PLACES DETROIT MICHIGAN IN THE FUTURE, AND THE AUTOBOTS ARE NOT RUTHLESS SOLDIERS THEIR REPAIR BOTS WHO ARE BARELY HOLDING THEIR OWN AND GETTING LUCKY AGAINST MEGATRON. As a guy with kids, I'm happy that these shows are coming out at all. My two year old and I watch Batman: Brave and the Bold and Super Hero Squad together. I've seen this show and it's not a bad intro to IM for the tweeners out there. It's good to get that before getting into the real thing.
