New Trailer For Disney/Pixar's CARS 3 Picks Up Right Where The Announcement Teaser Left Off

The announcement teaser for Cars 3 established an unusually somber tone and that continues with this first full trailer, as Lightning McQueen attempts to get back on track after a devastating crash.

Disney/Pixar has released a new trailer for Cars 3, and like the initial teaser it places the focus on drama over laughs, as Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson) comes to terms with the fact that he's past his prime.

The movie itself will almost certainly be a lighter affair (at least, we bloody hope so), as the trailer also teases a comeback story, with McQueen stepping up for another face-off with Jackson Storm (Armie Hammer) with the help of new ally, Cruz Ramirez (Cristela Alonzo).

Blindsided by a new generation of blazing-fast racers, the legendary Lightning McQueen is suddenly pushed out of the sport he loves. To get back in the game he will need the help of eager young female race technician Cruz Ramirez. Proving that #95 isn’t through yet, he will test the heart of a champion on Piston Cup Racing’s biggest stage against his new rival, Jackson Storm.

Cars 3 is set for release on June 16, 2017.

One and done...that's how this "franchise" should've begun and ended.

never seen a CARS movie. Just don't like the idea of a sentient automobile. Toys yes, cars no.

@RorMachine - NOBODY like sentient dolls... just watch the movies, nothing good ever comes from a talking doll! Chucky, Annabelle, Trilogy of Terror, Barbie...

@RorMachine - You probably have seen the originals. Cars is Doc Hollywood, Cars 2 is a spoof of old school bond, Cars 3 is almost certainly some sort of spin on Days of Thunder.

Yep! Like I said before, this is basically the same plot as Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby.
