SPACE JAM: A NEW LEGACY Literally Drops A Trailer To Announce The Full-Length Trailer Will Be Out Saturday

In typical Looney Tunes fashion, Warner Bros. has dropped a trailer to announce that another, full-length official trailer for Space Jam: A New Legacy will be out this Saturday. Check it out...

As expected following that recent batch of character posters, Warner Bros. has announced that the full-length official trailer for their upcoming live-action/animated sequel, Space Jam: A New Legacy, will be out this Saturday.

With no Lakers game scheduled for Saturday, it seems probable that the trailer will debut at some point during one of the Final Four matchups on CBS. While it should be up on CBM as soon as it goes live, if you're looking to catch the debut live, the first game between Houston and Baylor begins at 5:14 PM ET while the second between Gonzaga and UCLA begins at 8:34 PM ET.

Ahead of the trailer drop, Warner Bros. has shared a funny teaser featuring Road Runner literally dropping a trailer on Wile E. Coyote to make the announcement.

The plot will see current Los Angeles Lakers forward and 4x NBA Champion LeBron James (Trainwreck) partner up with Bugs Bunny and the Tune Squad, after he and his son (Cedric Joe) are trapped in a virtual space by a rogue algorithm named Al-G Rhythm (Don Cheadle). He'll be then tasked with leading the always hilarious, albeit extremely undisciplined Looney Tunes against Al-G's digitized champions on the basketball court.

Malcolm D. Lee (Night School) is directing and Ryan Coogler (Black Panther) is producing the upcoming sequel, which will star James in the lead role opposite Bugs Bunny, doing his best to fill the shoes of the legendary Michael Jordan, a.k.a. the greatest basketball player of all-time, who starred in the original 1996 classic.

The supporting cast will feature Academy Award-nominee Don Cheadle (Avengers: Endgame) as the main villain, Sonequa Martin-Green (Star Trek: Discovery) as James' wife, and Ceyair J. Wright (American Skin) as James' eldest son. Basketball co-stars remain a mystery for now, but the cast is rumored to feature the likes of Klay Thompson, Anthony Davis, Damian Lillard, Chris Paul, Kyle Kuzma, Diana Taurasi, Nneka Ogwumike and Chiney Ogwumike, amongst several other NBA and WNBA stars.

There are rumors that additional Warner Bros. characters, including Pennywise, Lord Voldemort, The Wicked Witch of the West, Agent Smith, The Mask, and The Joker, will also appear, but that remains unconfirmed for now.

Space Jam: A New Legacy will hop into theaters and HBO Max on July 16.

I hope it's good or at least watchable. Hope I'll be able to decide whether or not it requires a theater going experience.

Off topic: I just uploaded my first video to YouTube!

Just looking forward to seeing how this is animated. They've retained a few of the animation directors from the original, plus I think some of the guys who worked on "Klaus" are involved, so high hopes.
