Whether people know him primarily as a politician, bodybuilder, or actor, Arnold Schwarzenegger has been a household name for decades. Having played pivotal roles in franchises like Terminator and Predator, along with all of his other action-based starring roles, it's easy to see him as a superhero.
That's why it should come as no surprise that the actor is starring in a new project from the late Stan Lee, Superhero Kindergarten. Arnie has been hyping it up with uncontained enthusiasm this year, and the show is finally set to premiere this Friday.
Schwarzenegger is voicing the hero of the show, Captain Arnold Armstrong, or as the world knows him, Captain Fantastic. His character is the teacher of five budding children with superpowers, and his role is to teach them how to navigate the dangers of their abilities while also teaching them everyday life lessons.
In addition to voicing the lead character in Stan Lee's Superhero Kindergarten, Schwarzenegger is also an Executive Producer on the series, and you can find out what he had to say about working with Stan "The Man" on one of his final projects below.
“This is a deeply personal project for me and I am so pumped to introduce it to the world. Not only has it allowed me to bring to life the work of the fantastic Stan Lee, but the series also touches on subjects I’ve spent my life working on, from health and fitness tips and anti-bullying messages to inclusivity and diversity… It’s an honor to have worked with Stan Lee and I know he would be proud of the message we’re delivering.”
The first two episodes of Stan Lee's Superhero Kindergarten premiere this Friday, April 23rd, and they can be viewed on the free-to-use children's streaming platform, Kartoon Channel!. The remainder of the 26 episode season will then release on a weekly schedule every Friday thereafter.
In Stan Lee's Superhero Kindergarten, you’ll meet a classroom of kids with WILD powers, and my character, Captain Fantastic, who trains them to reach their full potential. We’ve got superheroes, we’ve got laughs, and we’ve got some great lessons to be learned along the way, from anti-bullying to health and everything in between.
