@ LEEE777 & Promorus: The reason why they won't make a sequel to The Incredibles is because their story had a ending. The story of the Incredibles was a family in turmoil because they rejected who they were and spited each other for it. At the end of the film the kids supported one another instead of fighting and the parents accepted who they were and what they were meant to do.
The only possible sequel I could see is one where the daughter is in college and about to get married, the middle son is about to graduate high school and move away, and the parents are trying to control Jack-Jack and his ever increasing powers (and ego due to said powers) while dealing with losing their two elder kids (to marriage and moving on/out).

Just because The Incredibles was planned as a stand-alone film doesn't mean it shouldn't get a sequel. There's plenty of room for one.

Under that philosophy, The Lord of the Rings would not even exist, because it was an unplanned sequel to The Hobbit.
