A Marvel Screenwriter Is Developing A Live-Action COWBOY BEBOP TV Series

Cowboy Bebop, the seminal anime series that's arguably regarded as the greatest anime serial of all-time, is receiving a live-action adaptation that will be written by one of Thor: Ragnarok's scribes.

Moments ago, Variety announced that a Western live-action remake of Cowoby Bebop was in development with Tomorrow Studios and Sunrise Pictures. Chris Yost, a longtime Marvel Comics scribe and graduate of the Marvel Writer's Program (he's credited with screenplay contributions on Thor: The Dark World and Thor: Ragnaork), is writing the series.

While initially unpopular in Japan, Cowboy Bebop is an anime series that regularly pops up in the top spot on American lists of the greatest anime of all-time.  A feature-film starring Keanu Reeves nearly moved into production in the late-90s/early-2000s but stalled due to budget concerns.

^^^ I don't know which demon Keanu Reeves sold his soul to for his immortality, but I'm okay with "Ted" Theodore Logan playing Spike.

I've always been a great Cowboy Bebop fan, and this is bullshit. Especially the Keanu/Spike part, I mean what the hell they're almost like opposites. Sure Spike tries to act as if he never cares, he acts like a rock, but he's also charming and layered. Keanu, love the guy, is just... is a rock. And loose from Keanu, well a live-action version already would never be as good as the anime. The fact that Cowboy Bebop is an anime, gives it the ability to do a lót of things you just can't do in a live-action movie, some of which makes the show what it is.
