The promotional imagery was unveiled today at the Taiwan International Comic Exposition. The film is currently slated for a 2014 release and has secured the involvement of the anime's original director, Mamoru Oshii (Ghost in the Shell). Oshii has past experience directing live-action features but it is unknown whether he will actually direct this project or is merely on board as a consultant.

@SoundWave

nop, just a regular robot.

btw, see Hollywood? you don't need overly complicated re-designs of something iconic to be "realistic".

Don'tcha love how AMAZINGLY faithful that robot is - one of thousands of anime robot/cyborg/mecha characters. Really well done.

Makes you wonder why our DOFP Sentinels look more like "I Robot" wannabes than Sentinels.
Sad really.

I like it somewhat. Sure it looks like a giant toy, but it's just a glimps. It depens on how they will make it. Let's hope for another good adpation like Rouroni Kenshin.

Hey, Singer...Yeah, you know what I'm going to say.

THAT is how you build a robot. You can take your hairdryer Sentinels and shove them.

Seriously though, I'm glad we're finally getting Sentinels...just wish they'd left out the giant vents on the chests. Yes, yes I know...Singer didn't want the general audience thinking he ripped off Iron Man yadda yadda yadda. Whatever.

This is dope!

Btw: the best Gundam series is not 00, but 0083. Straight up.

No,the best Gundam series was the original Mobile Suit Gundam (ie 0079). Get with the program you Johnny-come-latelies.

The original was good, but it didn't carry the emotional weight of the short run 0083.
