Pokemon the mega franchise that's been going on since the 90's has announced that a new movie based on the x and y video games will hit theaters July 18th 2015. Along with the release date also came two posters for the film.



As well as the two posters we also got a thrity second trailer giving as a look at what could be the legendary pokemon that will be in the film it self.

I haven't seen a Pokemon movie since the 3rd one.

I wonder how long this show plans to keep on going. Its going to be weird to see my future kids watching a show that I grew up on as a kid.

Apparently this franchise is still very popular among kids. The games were awesome. Red & Blue are classics and Gold & Silver are probably in my all time favorites list, and those had like 250 different pokemon, which was hard enough to "catch em all". By now I imagine there must be around 1000.

@Emblemmaniac I'll give those a try someday. By the time I finished Gold & Silver I was pushing 12 and moved on.

And i am 23 in may next year and honestly don't see the point in "moving" on in cause you like the games :P (I am more of a handheld gamer so)

You are correct, i believe this will be the 18th film in the series.

They already used the two X and Y legendaries in the last movie, 'Pokémon the Movie: Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction'

I believe each region in Pokemon is based on a country, meaning if they did each individual country then they could probably keep it going quite a long time...

The whole Pokémon thing happened too late for me, but I saw it take hold of first my nephews and now my own kids with an all-consuming passion. I have tried for their sake to like it, but have never been able to figure out the appeal. :\

I want to be the very best
the best there ever was

But I gave up after Pokemon gold and silver after having a dream about myself never getting married and having kids.
