If there was one thing undeniable about
Ant-Man and the Wasp, it is the fact that Evangeline Lilly's superheroine was a definite standout. In a set full of veteran actors, Lilly was able to rise above the rest, providing one of 2018's most welcome characters. With all the praise bestowed on her portrayal, some expected that Marvel Studios would have a solo feature in the works. Surprisingly, Lilly kindly prefers not to have a film of her own.
Speaking at Fan Expo Boston this past weekend, the
Ant-Man and the Wasp actress had this to say:
I actually don’t like the idea of a Wasp standalone film, because Ant-Man and Wasp, since the very beginning in the comic books, were always a team. And really, they’re kind of one of the only proper and true teams in the MCU, otherwise it’s mostly a lot of individuals. And I love the team aspect of it, I love watching the interplay between Wasp and Ant-Man and Ant-Man and the Wasp. For me it’s the most fun part of the film.
To be fair, Lilly has a fair point. The
Ant-Man franchise has always relied on the interplay between its main trio of likeable characters. Hank, Scott, and Hope's chemistry is too infectious to be broken apart.
Would you want to see a Wasp solo film?
