EDITORIAL: Vision Origin Theory In AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON

I will explain my theory of how Paul Bettany's 'Vision' comes to be in The Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Editorial Opinion

Hello, I am @FoneBone, and this is my very first editorial. In this editorial, I explain what I think could be the origin of Vision in The Avengers: Age of Ultron. After doing much research and looking at other people's theories, I have gathered my own. Here we go...

Vision Theory:

In The Avengers: Age of Ultron, Paul Bettany, who previously voiced Tony Stark's A. I. buddy and right-hand man J. A. R. V. I. S. in the Iron Man trilogy and The Avengers is playing the role of the A. I. Avenger, Vision. With the inclusion of Ultron, and Tony Stark's part in his creation, there are many possibilities concerning Vision's origin. So, here is my theory:

Vision Is Created From The Human Torch

-In Captain America: The First Avenger, there was an Easter egg featuring a glimpse at the body of the android, Jim Hammond, the Human Torch, at a Howard Stark expo, alluding to Howard Stark creating the Human Torch. In the comics, Vision is created from the Human Torch's body.

-Recent photos have surfaced from the set of The Avengers: Age of Ultron, revealing what looks like a 1940s WW2 setting, further leading to Howard Stark creating Vision, which would make sense, considering [CA: TWS SPOILERS] it was revealed that Howard Stark was killed by Hydra, and Baron von Strucker, who is also in The Avengers: Age of Ultron, is involved with the Maximoff twins, Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, as well as the confirmation that Captain America: The Winter Soldier is the "bridge" to The Avengers: Age of Ultron; the film that leads to it the most.

-So, Howard Stark creates the Human Torch and modifies him into the Vision in the 1940s, or Howard Stark creates the Human Torch and the android modifies itself into Vision, and Hydra has knowledge of this.

-This would explain why Paul Bettany plays Vision, when he already played J. A. R. V. I. S. Howard Stark created him.

Do you guys think this could be the origin of Vision, or do you have a different idea? Comment and make sure you Hit the Red Thumbs Up Button. What do you think? This is @FoneBone, see you later.

I like the idea that it's Howard Stark that makes Vision (possibly even Ultron?)

i can see that working, im imagining the android being made in the 40s and then now it's not working but ultron finds it in a shield facility somewhere and turns him into his subject. so then howard's original programing combines with his feelings for wanda cause him to rebel against ultron and join the avengers.

Cool theory!

I think Howard was dabbling in the technology of Androids, and an A.I. Jarvis was a real person that he based the A.I. on. Tony Stark finishes what his dad started with the A.I. Hydra got ahold of some of the tech specs and accidentally create Ultron. Ultron creates Vision with the Starks A.I. Bingo? I also believe Shield has gotten ahold of some of the specs. And their trying to make a synthetic Android. Or.....life model decoy. I believe Coulson is the prototype. So yes, there is lots of proof that Androids may exist in the MCU.

Ummmm........yeah........let me think..........ummmmm.......no, sorry, but this is highly unlikely. They never showed that android actually working in TFA, so it may have been like that hover-car that Stark showed, just a prototype that Stark showed off and did a few quick, temporary tricks, but wasn't actually some kind of real, working android. Plus, I really doubt that 1940s tech is good enough to be turned into an android that is supposed the be as advanced as the Vision (if that's how the comics did it, then the comics are stupid and should not be followed.) Also, since the same guy who voices Jarvis is playing Vision, my guess is that Jarvis either becomes Vision, or maybe Tony creates an updated version of Jarvis that becomes Vision (Tony might create it specifically to help fight Ultron.) Tony could create an advanced android body for the AI to live in and move around in and fight with, or Jarvis could do it himself (remember, while Tony comes up with all the designs of his suits, it is Jarvis who actually manufactures them in the movies.)

I think it's been shown fairly conclusively that Coulson is Coulson, not an LMD.

@WYLEEJAY

That sounds pretty plausible to me!
ToxicCap
ToxicCap - 4/13/2014, 8:09 AM
Or maybe Howard Stark just stored the Human Torch Android somehere and Hydra modifies him to become the Vision.
WYLEEJAY
WYLEEJAY - 4/13/2014, 8:18 AM
@Lhornbk. If you pay close attention to the last episode and what May says to him.....

Someone to repair your body...
a technician to reprogram your brain...
a specialist to take you down if it needs to be done...

It doesn't sound like shes talking to a human. Just an interesting choice of dialogue, and it doesn't necessarily mean anything, but who ever said an LMD had to be mechanical? Synthetic body? Entirely possible if we know people in the same MCU have researched Androids.
sikwon
sikwon - 4/13/2014, 8:57 AM
^^^^^^. I agree 100%. They transfered Zola's brain in the 70's. How much further along is the tech in 2013 when Colson was killed? They could have transferred is mind to a synthetic body. My only problem with that dialog and the door it opens is the the people in question (Fitz, Simmons, Ward) seem to know nothing about it. Unless May's job was to brief them on Colson only if absolutely necessary, they were pretty clueless. I do agree that the most likely scenario is still that they transferred his brain into a synthetic of some kind.
WYLEEJAY
WYLEEJAY - 4/13/2014, 9:18 AM
Exactly! Or even cloned, and transferred his memories. Maybe part synthetic. Cause they definitely used the formula to bring him back. Unlike Skye who was still alive and in her original body. Maybe thats the difference between the two of them?
ROBBEATZZZ
ROBBEATZZZ - 4/13/2014, 9:27 AM
@Lhornbk..in addition to what WYLEEJAY said..

the hovering car Howard displayed may have been a early version of Coulson's

"hovering Flying car" Lola...therefore similar with Howard's Human Torch and Vision
WYLEEJAY
WYLEEJAY - 4/13/2014, 9:39 AM
And I dont think Human Jarvis from the forties will necessarily become an A.I. or Vision. I just think Howard Stark designed it after him, and Tony finished it.
CaptainAmerica31
CaptainAmerica31 - 4/13/2014, 9:41 AM
Cool, original human torch. I hope they give him a different name though, not human torch.
WYLEEJAY
WYLEEJAY - 4/13/2014, 9:42 AM
@Robbeatzzz. Lola! I actually forgot about Lola. Your right. Howard was playing with the idea, then modern day, there it is. Why not Androids? Will people be ok with Howard Stark being the original creator instead of Hank Pym?
WYLEEJAY
WYLEEJAY - 4/13/2014, 9:47 AM
And we have already seen mind transference. Zola. He transferred his mind into an old computer a long time ago. So with modern tethnology, they could transfer a mind into a more advanced body. Coulson. If not an LMD, or Vision, then who or what? Machine Man?
WYLEEJAY
WYLEEJAY - 4/13/2014, 10:48 AM
@Gliderman. The serum. We dont really know what it does yet. Besides heal. If Coulsons part synthetic part organic, that serum would have been quite useful.

You may be on to something.

@GliderMan

Any other theories that have similarity to this one is coincidental. Or maybe all great minds think alike?

If I watched AOS, I would have had more research. Should have thought about that.
FoneBone
FoneBone - 4/13/2014, 10:58 AM
Now that you guys talk about AOS, I realize it plays into the MCU more than I thought.
WYLEEJAY
WYLEEJAY - 4/13/2014, 11:18 AM
@Fonebone. As much as I like the show, and as connected as the show and the films feels, you mostly see things from the films affecting the show. Not really the show affecting anything in the movies. Coulsons team are kinda on their own for the most part.

"I'm just scared Thor's not gonna have a major part."

Is it because he hasn't been seen in any location shooting yet? Really wouldn't worry too much about that at all. Most of his stuff may be in the studio, and/or Cleveland.

Jediknyte - 4/13/2014, 12:44 PM
We know LMD's exist because Stark references it in Avengers.when Coulson calls tony he says you have reached his LMD
ToxicCap
ToxicCap - 4/13/2014, 1:16 PM
I think that Howard developed the resurrection tech that was used on Coulson. I forgot who it was but someone posted an article saying that the doctors who operated on Coulson set his mind to think that he came from the island of Tahiti. Hydra might find a stored Human Torch android in a storage room or something and operate on him and set his mind to think that the Avengers are the enemy just as the doctors did with Tahiti to Coulson. Idk. Just my thoughts.
HaroldOfGalactus
HaroldOfGalactus - 4/13/2014, 2:55 PM
One big problem. Both in the comics and in the movie, "the synthetic man" is created by a dr. Phineas t horton. It says so on the tube the human torch is in during that scene. Howard stark had nothibg to do with it at all.
WYLEEJAY
WYLEEJAY - 4/13/2014, 4:41 PM
Since Dr Horton hasn't been introduced into the MCU, how do we know that Howard Stark didn't work on it with him? Erskine gets most of the credit for Captain America, even though Howard helped him. So the tube saying Dr Hortons name on it doesn't mean Howard Stark didn't have his hand in the work too. Jim Hammond may have nothing to do with that Android. It just looks like a model in the movie, but it still goes to show that they were interested in Androids.
WYLEEJAY
WYLEEJAY - 4/13/2014, 4:43 PM
Keep in mind what LMD means. Life Model Decoy. Their robots that look like people, that can be controlled from a safe place, and are hard to identify as robots.
WYLEEJAY
WYLEEJAY - 4/13/2014, 4:44 PM
Maybe Coulsons mind was transferred into one to save him.

I think Pym will have invented the Ultron intelligence, Tony invents the Ultron body probably using his father's Human Torch design, and Ultron downloads Jarvis and shackles him and puts him into a better Android body to use as a weapon against the Avengers.

STANE WAS WORKING FOR HYDRA! BECAUSE HE SAID THE HE KILL HOWARD IN IRONMAN
