POLL/DISCUSSION: The New Trailer For AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON

The new Avengers: Age Of Ultron trailer seemed to go down pretty well with most of you -- in fact probably the only criticism I've read is that it's a bit light on plot, and aside from some very intriguing images it doesn't really give us enough of an idea of what the film will actually be about. Well, I think we can certainly glean a rough idea at least: Tony Stark creates Ultron, Ultron goes bad, Avengers forced to battle seemingly insurmountable odds while also dealing with rifts in the team. You need more? Okay, so there are a lot of new questions raised, but personally I think that's a good thing. What's with the Black Widow flashback? Who is the woman by the water? Is red-eyed Hulk being controlled by Ultron or has he just been watching too much late-night Babestation? All questions I honestly hope remain unanswered until the movie's release, but that's probably wishful thinking.

Some fans were also a little disappointed that we still didn't get a look at Paul Bettany's Vision in action, and the trailer was a bit lacking in any new footage of Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver. This stuff is obviously being saved for future promotion, but do you feel a teasing glimpse or two was needed? What about the tone of the trailer? When it comes to CBM sequels we expect everything to get "darker" by now, but this had a very sombre, borderline creepy vibe with its out-of-context shots and a stripped-down variation of that "No Strings On Me" score.

The results of our Ant-Man poll reveal that the majority of you felt the first trailer was merely "good", but surely we can expect a more positive outcome here... right? Vote below and be sure to share your thoughts in the usual place.

It was good. Glad they aren't showing everything.

Hopefully they can keep footage of Vision for the most part under wraps.

What I loved about the trailer was that it didn't really give away anything. By the end, we are left wanting more and that's what the trailer was intending to do. I can kind of imagine whats going to happen by the end of the film but overall, I'm more confused now than I was before watching the trailer. So many questions unanswered, something more CBMs should be doing.

I really don't understand why people would complain about the CGI, especially for The Hulk, everything I have seen so for looks amazing, and these are trailers

jediPhilosopher- the only scene i really noticed with CGI was the bit where iron man lands on like ice and shoots those guys. it looks of like it's missing some detail, im sure everything will look fine in the film.

The two AOU trailers show just enough to give you a general gist of the plot and hinting at the stakes involved. I love it.

And both were freaking epic. And you can tell that the fight scene just like in the first Avengers movie will have narrative to it, and not just people throwing blows with the overcompensating crutch of SFX

I actually have to backtrack a bit on my comments on the CGI. I don't know if it was the link CBM posted (Doubt it though, it went back to the official Marvel channel, so it was definitely legit), but I watched the trailer on a different site and the CGI didn't seem NEARLY as bad as I first thought it was. For being so far out from the official release, the CGI is not bad at all. Obviously, it'll be top-notch during the movie itself, so it's a total non-issue.

That said, I did enjoy the first teaser a lot more. It just seemed more coherent and well-edited. And you just can't beat that Ultron voiceover. Compared to that, this was just a series of random scenes set to an awesomely creepy version of the "No Strings" song. They probably should've reversed the order in which they released these - this worked better as a teaser (that runtime though), and the other seemed more like a trailer anyway.

I said this on another post but I want to share it again.

I think Hulk is for sure being sent into space. Perhaps the vision that Scarlet Witch shows Iron Man, and the scene of Captain America's shield broken are because of the Hulk sometime in the future, which is why Tony launches Hulkbuster.

Hulk doesn't get his own solo movie for Planet Hulk. Hulk is one of the main villains in Avengers:Infinity War Part 1, which will have elements of World War Hulk.

By the end of Captain America:Civil War the Avengers teams are divided. In Infinity War Part 1 Tony Stark forms a new team of Avengers, consisting of Doctor Strange, Ant-Man, Black Panther and more to take down the Hulk.

In Infinity War Part 2 The original team returns and everyone sets aside their differences to protect Earth from Thanos. This way, the original Avengers actors contracts won't be broken by doing just one of the two Avengers movies.

besides the hulk vs ironman battle, the trailer is bad. Bad edition, bad selection of scenes, bad music, bad cgi, the story seems bad too.

i hope the movie will be very different to what is showed here.

and for the guys that are defending the poor cgi: THE MOVIE IS ONLY 4 MONTHS AWAY!!!!
its ridiccoulus that a blockbuster have that kind of problems

@JediPhilosopher Whole heartedly agree with you. The League is a bunch of friends, totally different from The Avengers. I liked that dynamic about them. If MOS is something to go by, we are in for a huge disappointment. I hope that isn't the case. I grew up on Justice League and watched Superfriends reruns.

Still, I love what Marvel has done. They've hit it out of the park.

@AlexanderLykins I thought the Hulk was good. Iron man (non-Hulkbuster) looked bad to me when he was coming down out of the sky and sliding on the ice. Still, I think we are going to be satisfied.
