Road To INFINITY WAR: Mind-Blowing AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON Keyframes Show Scenes Not In The Movie
Avengers: Age of Ultron was an epic movie so it won't surprise you to learn that the keyframes are every bit as incredible. Here, we look at those and what they reveal about this movie AND Infinity War.
Following in the footsteps of The Avengers was never going to be an easy task but with Joss Whedon back at the helm, Avengers: Age of Ultron gave it a good try back in 2015. Introducing new heroes and a terrifying villain in the form of Ultron, the sequel brought an awful lot to the table and generated a lot of excitement among fans. While Thanos will no doubt be an even more formidable threat in Infinity War, we're now taking a look back at the movie by sharing some incredible concept art.
While it's cool seeing alternate costumes for a movie like this, the keyframes - concept art depicting key sequences from the movie before they're visualised by the director and VFX teams - are even better. Some of them even show us scenes which were changed or somehow didn't make the final cut.
What you'll find here is a look at some of the best keyframes from Avengers: Age of Ultron and what they reveal about both the sequel and Avengers: Infinity War (a few pieces do appear to tie into scenes we may see in the upcoming release). Scarlet Witch Loses Control
Chances are this scene takes place shortly after Quicksilver is killed protecting Hawkeye because the Scarlet Witch looks distraught as she loses control and blasts away the surrounding Ultron sentries.
Avengers Assemble!
One of the coolest (and arguably most epic) scenes in the movie came when Earth's Mightiest Heroes did battle with Ultron's army of sentries, fighting them off despite being surrounded.
Tony Stark Loses His Mind
Near the start of Avengers: Age of Ultron, the Scarlet Witch uses her powers to play with Tony Stark's mind and set him on the path to creating Ultron. This is a gorgeous visual show that moment.
Captain America Vs. Quicksilver
This incredible piece of artwork shows The Avengers doing battle with Ultron, the Scarlet Witch, and Quicksilver, and the latter's powers are on full display as he does battle with Captain America.
Ultron And Allies
Ultron is joined here by Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch, two characters who are no stranger to being bad as they both started off as members of Magneto's Brotherhood of Evil Mutants in the comics.
Iron Man's Terrifying Vision
As you can see, Tony Stark is standing over his fallen teammates as he looks at the Leviathan heading towards Earth. The question is, will this vision come true when Avengers: Infinity War is released?
These awesome pieces of artwork show The Twins meeting with Ultron and he looks a lot like how you might imagine Doctor Doom would on that throne if he were in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Hulk Smash!
This gorgeous piece of artwork shows The Hulk losing control after is mind is manipulated by the Scarlet Witch. Originally, Joss Whedon's plan was for the fan-favourite hero to turn grey here.
Party Poopers
Earth's Mightiest Heroes are chilling out in Avengers Tower when Ultron strikes and this piece of artwork shows an alternate take on the heroes doing battle with the Iron Legion he's controlling.
Ultron Vs. Iron Man
Here, we see Ultron going to war with Iron Man while his sentries look on. The two did fight in the movie but we didn't actually get this scene so it's interesting to see what might have been!
Black Widow's Surrounded
Things look bleak for Black Widow here as she finds herself surrounded by an entire group of Ultron's sentries. This is a seriously cool shot and one it would have been nice to see make it into the movie.
Avengers At War
The tracking shot showing The Avengers fighting Ultron's army was magnificent and this piece of artwork shows us the sheer amount of work which went into imagining what that would look like.
Hulkbuster Vs. Hulk
We've already taken a look at various designs for Tony Stark's Hulkbuster armour but here we see him do battle with the Jade Giant. This was actually one of the first big Avengers: Age of Ultron reveals!
Thor's Vision
Thor's vision in Avengers: Age of Ultron was downright baffling but it's thought that we'll revisit the scene in Infinity War later this year so perhaps it will start making more sense pretty soon.
Black Widow Races Into Action
Here, we see Black Widow dropping from the Quinjet on her motorbike for one of the movie's most badass sequences. Her later nabbing Captain America's shield has become a fairly iconic image!
The Quinjet
With S.H.I.E.L.D. gone by the time Avengers: Age of Ultron began, the team's equipment got a makeover courtesy of Tony Stark and that included an all-new Quinjet which you can see here.
The Iron Legion Faces Protestors
Because Ultron was introduced pretty quickly in the movie, we didn't get to spend a huge amount of time with Tony Stark's Iron Legion and here we see them addressing Sokovia's angry citizens.
Ultron Explains His Plan
With Sokovia in the background, we see Ultron explaining his plan to The Twins and it's a very atmospheric shot of the three villains before Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch see the error of their ways.
War!
With Ultron threatening all life on Earth, the team has to do everything they can to stop the psychotic android and this amazing shot shows the team attempting to hold off the villainous hoard.
